I love to keep up with the other side, so here's a lot of words just to say "it's complicated." meanwhile he ignores the obvious answer to his own question.

Sure, then they're free to create an LGB organisation (I think there already is?)
An LGBT organisation's purpose is to ensure the needs of everyone under the queer umbrella, and working on the image of trans people (which becomes the image of the entire community by association) by solving their need to request access to women's bathrooms, which is one of the most polarizing issues on the subject that creates such a negative reaction, will lead to a better outcome to everyone.

How to say “it’s all about the T” without saying it’s all about the T.

Good grief. It’s like there’s nobody else in the universe, isn’t it?

How often have you used portaloos yourself? I've used quite a few as an archaeologist working on sites out in the middle on nowhere, and even when sharing them with habitually clean women colleagues they were still not things I'd ever choose except in dire necessity.

They do their job when I need to pee
I'm sure most trans women would rather use them than the male bathroom

DeanElderberry · 27/06/2026 15:40

They are less vile for people who can stand to pee. Much more problematic for women.

GriseldaandMike · 27/06/2026 15:42
  1. actual Portaloos on the street of Britain would get flipped over by youths seeking hijinks after closing time at the pub. On a good night they would make sure they were unoccupied first.

  2. I have an umbrella that got caught in a car door and bent a little on one side. It no longer opens/closes smoothly does this count as a queer umbrella?

We can work on multiple things at once and we can improve our circumstances through helping other's goals too.
Trans people have kept rather quiet about the issues specific to their needs and helped us a bunch when we were fighting for the right to be legal or marry, and now it's our turn to help them back.
Not doing so already is shown how it bites us back, and no, 'they're not one of us, I'm not with those freaks, I'm a normal gay' doesn't mean anything for lawmakers and won't be helpful long-term for the whole LGB community.

Why should LGB people work on improving then image of the “trans community”? Surely the people who tarnished that image by being unreasonable nasty bullies are the ones to fix it? I mean, they could start by apologising to all the women they have harmed couldn’t they?

I would say that if it's bent, then yes it's queer, but you should ask it what it identifies as, to make damn sure not to offend it or other umbrellas.

Keeptoiletssafe · 27/06/2026 15:53

So a plastic portaloo painted in (presumably) the progress flag or trans flag colours outside on its own in a public space in inner city America? Seriously, aren’t you worried the occupant is a sitting duck? Weren’t you saying how vulnerable they were to attack earlier? I don’t think you are ‘helping’.

So how have transpeople bullying women, threatening women with rape, violence and death and acting like narcissistic aresholes helped the LGB community? You’ll be saying TIMs have helped improve women’s rights next. 🙄🙄

Help them do what, though? What rights are they missing?

Not doing so already is shown how it bites us back

I've seen claims to the opposite, that if anything, LGB people are losing support from the general population because of their association with T people.

How can you have single sex attraction if you can't define sex?

How can lesbians date if the word woman means possibly female but may actually be male?

The GRC in England was introduced so transwomen could marry men. There was no solidarity and campaigning for all same sex attracted people to get the same right from those transwomen, just the usual I'm so special you should change the law for ME nonsense. They didn't have your back.

Because the image of the trans community becomes the image of the lgb community by association.
For a lot of people it doesn't matter if you're a 'normal gay', you're both weirdos. And when it comes to those who 'I don't care about the gays, only the trans' we've seen how that goes through history. Once they're done with the T, and they have to keep their word and mind their own business about the LGB, they'll have a rather hard time to do so.

I do have another umbrella that has a UV lining so it can identify as a parasol.

With the heatwaves, I'm seeing more and more people going around with parasol umbrellas. I even saw someone with a purple lace one! It was so pretty.

Mine's a full non binary waterproof umbrella on the outside, black out lined sunshade on the inside.

Nope. Sorry mate. It wasn’t LGB threatening women with rape with a splintery rolling pin. Trans people made this mess, it’s up to them to fix it. No one is blaming LGB people for the sins of the genderwang. We all know who caused this.
Didn’t lesbians get called bigots and thrown out of pride for saying males couldn’t be lesbians? Weren’t lesbians banned from meeting in some places if they refused to allow males in? Aren’t the trans community claiming ‘lesbians should accept penis or they’re transphobic bigots”? Why should lesbians help trans people now?

We don't have to start with extremes, we can pick a safe space like a blue city.
The data from it can be used to prove it works, then it can extend to other places.
Anyway, even in 'inner city America', I would use it. It's a place where people who need to pee go to. Besides not caring if I'm seen as being supportive, I can just be seen as someone who just needs to pee and doesn't give a crap about how it looks. People use that subway colored in a pride flag or walk on a pride crossroad just fine without being a target.

We have blue cities in the uk? Like conservatives? Or do you mean all the buildings are painted blue? Seems a bit Wizard of Oz to me.

I am sure of one thing: putting forward rubbish as if it made sense for page after page eventually rots the brain. The claims get wilder, the reason gets scantier, and it is rather sad to watch what initially appeared to be an almost reasonable human being descend into a morass of gobbledegook and bad faith genderwoo.

Could be caused by getting deep enough into the subject to say things you don't agree with

Not quite, I think if the organisators of a female-only group all decide to recognise trans women, then they should be allowed in that group (If law allows).
And I also believe men can be part of feminist movements, just like how straight people can be part of lgbt movements.
Which are 2 things that don't fit into the definition.
