I'm not sure that this is in line with the law.

They need to label all 3 ponds as mixed sex.

Yes I'm sure posting on the internet will help loads. Good job!

'Posting on the internet' did indeed lead to the recent Supreme Court judgement that confirmed that sex is protected in law and that women still have the regulatory framework that enables them to participate in society.

Hooray and well done those women!

It's because it saddens me to see so many people spending their day endlessly posting about trans people. Is this really what you want to do? It's so sad.

What are you posting about?

borntobequiet · Today 10:54

Kasi0pia · Today 10:41

You know instead of posting all this nonsense you could go and do something productive with your lives.

We get one brief moment of existence and you're here doing this.

Please, I'm begging you, there's so much more you could be doing.

Absolutely, I’ve got doilies to crochet and am running out of pot-pourri.

Kasi0pia · Today 10:54

Theeyeballsinthesky · Today 10:51

Well it helped the women who make FWS meet each other and form a group that went on to take a case to the Supreme Court to confirm sex in the equality act 2010 means biological sex

ditto all the posting on the internet links to crowdfunders for the Darlington nurses, maya forstater and jo phoenix

so yeah I'd say it helps

Yeah I'm sure posting here really helped, and not the backing of billionaires.

Are you fr?

Yeah good job, and when the same people that funded that come for women's voting rights, abortion rights etc etc I'm sure you'll still be cheering.

We're posting about women's rights

You're really not. Of the 20-odd threads that have been posted on today in the 'feminism' section, around 80% are about trans people.

You're posting about trans people.

Doesn't seem like it.

Seems to be a bunch of people having a go at trans people.

deary me - you lot never send your best do you
🤪🤪🤪

I'll use small words - without the internet the women who make up FWS would not even have met therefore there never would have been a case in the first place

capiche?

Quite. The current anti-trans feeling is being driven almost entirely by Reform. Restore, Tommy Robinson etc, who are in turn funded by big business, and by Russia.

A few dozen regular posters on this board are a fly on the coachwheel of the far right.

Oh my gosh, yes I'm sure without a few women from Mumsnet the global far right movement would be at a stand still.

CreativeGreen · Today 10:58

Quite narcissistic, isn't it, to read women posting about women-only spaces and the legislation or ruling about them as 'posting about trans people'? Well, narcissistic or thick.

No women's rights if sex is not protected in law.

No abortion rights if there are no women's rights.

TBH, I think they do. That's one of their problems.

I mean, it is indeed sad to spend all day posting on the internet, regardless of topic. But I'm not sure that this topic is less legit than others.

I don't think that it is disingenuous to say that this discussion is about women's rights rather than about trans people. The thing is that there are situations in which women don't want men around. We aren't fixated on their trans status. It's just that for very many purposes, a man's status as trans-identified is simply irrelevant. That's the point, really.

Unfortunately, according to this report (which I do not believe) 86% of the 38,000 (an incredibly high number, given that there are only 6,000 users of the ponds) voted in favour of the current policy. I simply find it totally unrealistic, that around 32,000 people found it OK for men to be present in a women only pond.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cqjpjvvyp91o

Same. Which is why I think you were allowed to vote more than once.

It's load of old bollocks

I thought the campaign to eradicate rights was more of a joint political effort.

First make them ridiculous by suggesting that words like 'sex' have no meaning and then remove them completely.

What7Words · Today 11:10

OpheliaWitchoftheWoods · Today 09:50

I'm starting to feel that if it is genuinely true that a majority of users prefer the trans-inclusive arrangements, these arrangements should be allowed to stand,

Well all the users who didn't want and couldn't use mixed sex facilities were pushed out, so of course those who are left are fine with it.

This is rather like harrassing all the actual lesbians out of 'LGBT' groups, and then proudly claiming that the remaining group show how all homosexual people adore and want straight sex. Because everyone left said so! Look!

Or hounding and harassing all the vegans out of a vegan club and then claiming that look, all vegans love eating meat, everyone (left) here says so!

This is a political group of people with the behaviours of a young child struggling with social skills, who unless they've won everything, are always first, get all the attention going and have all the toys, are going to scream and cry.

'Trans inclusive' always requires excluding some women from anything at all, so that some men can have everything. It tramples women and gay rights. It is not nearly as lovely a thing in practice as it is intended to sound.

Edited

This should be the dictionary definition of trans activists.

You're posting about trans people.

"trans people" includes trans identifying females, who are disproportionately young, autistic and vulnerable. I assure you the posters on this forum are extremely concerned for their mental and physical wellbeing.

Anyways, we have the best equalities lawyers on the case so I suggest we plant a few more seeds whenever we can afford to and stock up on popcorn and Tunnocks produce, for November.

TheKeatingFive · Today 11:19

Oh look, here we go again with the pure idiocy 🙄

If one of you could please elucidate what is 'far right' about wanting women's rights to single sex spaces upheld - please do so.

I mean, I fully expect the same old gibberish, but we can but try.

Oh my gosh, yes I'm sure without a few women from Mumsnet the global far right movement would be at a stand still.

Three fabulous women from Mumsnet met on here and won a fantastic victory in the Highest court in the UK. For all women.

Another woman who used to be on here goes around the UK, Ireland and Australia in events called Let women Speak.

Thanks to the wonderful women* on here I’ve been happy to financially support, Jo Phoenix, Darlington nurses, Jemes Esses, Sal Grover … I’ve become more educated on being a femist and fighting for women’s rights every day. Before this I supported women’s rights for abortion in Ireland. Next I’ll be supporting Sal in her appeal.

We are real people, Jo Phoenix has posted on here, as has Graham Linehan. ….

We learn on here about how wonderful JK Rowling is, how captured are the BBC, we’ve thru supporting each other fought back in little ways. In our own ways, things like feminist icons at work, putting up stickers on lampposts, at work knowing how to push back on the DEI madness, sending a fiver to Sandie Peggie. Each victory is because the women on here support safe spaces for women, we dont want any more children harmed by this ideology.

Trans Reddit hate us.

So yep, this place bei g known as Procecco Stormfront has real meaning. It’s an influential place that is frequently mentioned in the media.

Pet you need to calm down, clearly the feminist section of a website set up to help WOMEN is clearly not for you.

  • some wonderful men on here too
