New thread. You know the deal - women's pub, men to the Staunch Ally next door.

Some of us are currently on the trail of an international seed smuggling ring, just for background information.

Kitty is worn out after all that excitement. It was marvellous.

It’s ok, obviously I flew back any stragglers.

Thank you! It's more that I left her in The Dreadnork and she never got to be part of the yacht raid (part 1), Warehouse exploration or the yacht raid (part 2).
😞

Kitty is worn out after all that excitement. It was marvellous.

And I should absolutely have mentioned Kitty nonchalantly sauntering into the Bluestocking and ignoring everyone after her tremendous help in pointing out clues.

Oh! And I won £50 on the Premium Bonds!

After a couple of months of sweet fa I won £525. Can’t quite believe it. I can never work out whether they’re worth keeping but it’s the only gambling I do so may as well keep them.

Boiledbeetle · 03/06/2026 19:55

I got zilch this month.

Brava, Myrtle!

I've had a day. Got to work just after 8 am, left just after 7 pm, and managed a sum total of 15 minutes downtime for lunch. So I'd like the largest hot chocolate bowser and an industrial dose of lavender oil in the diffuser please, bar gerbil.

That sounds miserable and unsustainable. I hope you’re ok.

Fortunately it was very much a one-off. It was hard work though.

What a fantastic (in many senses of that word) story - applause to @MyrtleLion for that wonderfully entertaining saga ✍

MarieDeGournay · 03/06/2026 20:41

I'd like something restorative too please Bargerbils -

I mislaid my phone for about an hour and when I found it, there were umpteen texts missed calls about work on my house which I've been waiting to hear about for a couple of months. And of course they had to pick that hour to try to get in touch with me!

A big big job is starting next week, and although it has to be done and I'm glad it's starting, I'm dreading the disruption and noise and people in and out around the house, I don't handle that kind of stuff well at all😱

And then somebody on another thread said I was patronising! I've no idea why or what I said, but I must have phrased something badly and given the wrong impression.
Strangely upsetting, given that she's a random online stranger and her opinion shouldn't matter..😒

PS I should make clear to any newcomers that those images I used upthread are somebody else's work, I trawl through old threads and save fun images to recycleSmile

Boiledbeetle · 03/06/2026 21:15

I suspect it's more than likely 'his' opinion. So, even less reason for it to get under your skin, as I believe that is their intention. That or they are as thick as shit.

Just repeat five times "people chat shit on the internet" then give it no more head space .

How very appropriate for a sailor home from the sea.

I read ‘snowball’ and thought, it’s really not the right time of year for advocaat and why is she asking Boily rather than a gerbil for her drink.ConfusedGrin It must be past my bedtime.

You deserve sufficient snowballs to make a snowman from, @Hedgehogforshort

I’m going to be in That London for a meeting next week and thought I’d get a west end ticket. But I’m not inspired.
