Trans woman is banned from flaunting genitalia at YMCA locker room

The language - ‘pre-op private’s’ - well that’s a first!

He's not explicitly banned. He'll be back.

ahagwearsapointybonnet · 25/05/2026 22:17

All those rules, yet they still can't just say "no males in the female facilities"...

MassiveWordSalad · 25/05/2026 22:22

Private Preop reporting for duty, sir 🫡

Why hasn’t this pervert been arrested?

user293948849167 · 25/05/2026 22:25

Back when “ladies locker room” meant exactly that you didn’t tend to see male genitalia in them,
and nobody needed complicated rules to know who was allowed in either

PercyPigsAreOverRated · 25/05/2026 22:27

Honestly, I'm just checking in to see how our current resident TRA/MRA explains why this behaviour is OK.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 25/05/2026 23:40

But but it’s a “female penis” right? What’s the issue?! /s

He'll probably say it was someone else's fault for looking.

California law on this is vile.

The YMCA in San Francisco is not legally permitted to ban trans identified men from the female locker room. This seems to be the best they can do (though why the police can’t arrest for flashing like they did the guy at the LA spa, I don’t know).

It’s particularly upsetting because Stonestown is a very Asian heavy area and in a lot of Asian cultures nudity in single sex spaces is totally normal. This was my local YMCA when I lived in San Francisco. It’s really refreshing to see women of all ages just getting on with getting changed and not contorting themselves to cover up (often due to socially induced shame about their bodies) in the way that is so common in most Western changing rooms. Now they will all have to be extra careful and change their behaviours because California sacrifices women to trans ideology.

Good start for the YMCA. Maybe their predicament will highlight the problem.

Especially if Sammy won’t use a changing room unless he can have his lady dick on show… rather undermines the idea of someone just wanting to live their life in peace. Because someone who just want to quietly live their life would not have argued with all the women and persisted with this antisocial behaviour in the first place. The fact he’s stopped and gone off to harass more women elsewhere speaks volumes

Bring on the sunlight - theres a reason we have single sex changing rooms and it’s not moral panic - just that some men behave appallingly and need firmer boundaries than the rest

Doggodoggo · 26/05/2026 12:14

Yes its very telling that now he's not allowed to dry his hair and pubes with the hairdryer while naked he no longer goes there. And the fact that there is a gender neutral changing room that he refuses to use.

All this "they just want to exist/pee" is so naive and dangerous.

IIJM who hates the deluge of American news stories in the British media? Why should be be so uniquely interested in what Americans say and do? Equivalent stories from Canada, or France or Germany or anywhere else do not infest our media in the same way. I realise 'why' it happens, but I still don't like it at all. The Mail, of coirse, is one of the biggesrt offenders.

Igmum · 26/05/2026 12:40

I liked the community note on X which helpfully pointed out that pre-op privates is another term for penis. We need clear language to highlight these issues - and if San Francisco people have seen the light then the tide has definitely turned.

Doggodoggo · 26/05/2026 12:42

It is useful to see what happens in jurisdictions like California, which have a self-identity policy. It demonstrates what would happen here if we didnt have the Equality Act 2010 and the Supreme Court judgment in For Women Scotland.

Or could it be that the media in UK and the rest of Europe is not covering these issues? So we need publicity from any source. This is a world wide battle.

Doggodoggo · 26/05/2026 12:43

The Daily Mail is one of the few who even report on this. Other newspapers refuse to report the news if it goes against their ideology

Meadowfinch · 26/05/2026 12:46

No-one I know would ever consider displaying genitalia of any kind, in a changing room.

He's just a pervert who needs removing from the YMCA completely.

Doggodoggo · 26/05/2026 12:57

California need to change their laws to protect women and children

As do Canada, Germany, Australia, NZ, and many other countries. It all still looks a long way way at the moment. Especially as, as we are finding out in the UK, having the law on your side doesn't even solve all the problems.

Presumably if it were a situation where nudity was allowed he could do whatever he wanted, as per the Wi Spa case.

That isn’t what happened in the Wi spa case.

He was charged with indecent exposure and found not guilty.

Because he could claim to be a woman there was nothing to prevent him from exposing himself.

Because he could claim to be a woman there was nothing to prevent him from exposing himself.

Because the jury were not convinced by the evidence he was doing it for sexual gratification. That doesn’t mean a male could not be found guilty just because he identifies as a woman. The police could, at the least, have investigated that crime.
