Grace Campbell - Alastair Campbell

If I have missed any threads already started about this then apologies.

I am literally lost for words on the post she added to her podcast along with Charlie Craggs.

My own daughter has been lost to this cause. I am hoping I get her back. How utterly vile can a young woman be - Grace Campbell - towards women who have worked so hard to give her such privilege. I might be ugly and a freak Grace with awful hair. But I am not a mean girl.

You’d think that someone with such impressive parents (I’m not a fan of AC or Fiona Millar but they have done well for themselves) would be sharp, articulate, persuasive etc. She reminds me of an obnoxious teenager but she’s in her 30s. I’d be really disappointed if that was my offspring.

Totally!
if someone showed me footage of Grace Cambell and Connie Shaw then asked me which was AC & FM’s daughter I wouldn’t have picked Grace on this basis of this clip!

If FM used to be a “good feminist” back in the say, then I expect thats been somewhat undone by being in a hard left social group… the family would have been cast out if they expressed any sex realist views

She’s apparently said in the past that the all girls environment was good for her! Ridiculous. Reminds me of someone I know who says she has a phobia of mixed sex bathrooms because she has OCD and has a genuine fear and paranoia of men being in the same facility as her. But apparently this doesn’t apply to TW because TWAW. I was going to suggest that she gets over her fear by just imagining that every man is actually trans but decided against it.

Great idea - she can just identify out of having a phobia.

Nobody would know who she was, though. And the irony of the comments are in direct relation to 1. Her father chiding women/femjnists for not being kind and nice enough, and supposedly 2. Her views on feminism are where AC gets his from.

She's a nepo baby, whose comedy 'career' exists simply and solely because of her father's name and notoriety.

She used the name when it served her, she's done nothing at all to merit recognition without it, ergo it gets used when referring to her.

Cake, eating it etc etc etc.

Genuine question ROGD: why did you feel the need to give your male opinion on everyone's looks?

I'm well aware that I was opening myself to criticism for making any comment. I deliberately mentioned that my perspective is a male one, because many of you know I'm a man but not everyone already did, and I didn't want to hide behind any assumption that I'm female. It's an occupational hazard for a man (and particularly one who has difficulty shutting up!) that he will sometimes be seen negatively for things he says. That's fine with me. I'm not always aware of just how feminist women will see things so I'm going to annoy people unintentionally, and it's reasonable for them to express their feelings. I might even learn something – in fact, I think I have, as I undoubtedly put my foot in it more often when I was younger.

However, several people judging GC on her looks on this thread seemed a bit much to me, as she's perfectly presentable. And likewise the FWS women are clearly not "ugly" despite a woman and a man repeatedly saying so. I don't think any of these people should be dismissed based on their looks, even the man – at least he's not wearing highly sexualised clothing in that video.

I do take issue with "give [my] opinion on everyone's looks". I obviously could say plenty more on GC's and the FWS women's looks, but it's not a subject that interests me, it would be either creepy (if I was complimentary) or rude, and what I was trying to say is that none of them is in any way worthy of negative comment based on how they present themselves (with the caveat that I have seen some pictures of GC in decidedly unusual clothing).

Always a joy to rewatch that clip. I am more than a little bit in love with Dom S - partly the voice, partly the way he tends to remember that women exist and matter, partly because he's bloody funny.

And mostly, as here, because he actually bloody thinks. Thereby showing up Campbell and Stewart as the bien-pensant bloviators they are.

Me too! He just always seems like a good egg, along with being intelligent and funny and having absolutely no truck with 'woke tosh'.

I found Anthony Scaramucci interesting to listen to about US politics, I'm sure there were a couple of subscriber episodes of TRIH he was on. Self-deprecating too, unlike Campbell (for whom it really seemed to smart that Sandbrook was right and he wasn't...)

And LOL at the 'emotional support pen' - I can't unsee that now Grin

ArabellaScott · 18/04/2026 15:39

'people judging GC on her looks on this thread seemed a bit much to me, as she's perfectly presentable'

The point is how she looks is irrelevant. How the FWS women look, or Grace, is irrelevant in this context, where the subject is political and moral arguments.

Its a pure ad hom from Grace and Charlie, and people retaliating are tit for tatting.

SidewaysOtter · 18/04/2026 15:47

I think this is a perfectly valid point to make, particularly when The Gruesome Twosome are very much making their pronouncements on women's appearances through the prism of what some men think women should look like to be worthy of respect. Sure, Grace is a woman but she's very much shilling for the patriarchy here.

On the whole I don't like to see the criticism of how Grace looks being used as an argument against her. It's not a valid argument and in fact undermines the point we're generally making, which is that she's utterly wrong to suggest that feminists are not worthy of listening to, of respect, of rights, because of how they look. That nonsense was used as a way to shame and bully suffragists/suffragettes and it was unpleasant as it was irrelevant 100 years ago, but it works both ways.

This wasn't the first time, this week, that I'd seen almost the same juxtaposition of arguments or, more accurately, discussion, as if they are equivalent in weight (HS's X post and image, included close to the end of this report).

"I don't like your clothes or your hair and no boy will ever fancy you"

32 yrs old and still pandering to the sort of puerile shite that most of us got fed up with by the time we were 14 yrs old. She comes across as a 32 yr old teenage mean girl.

Mollyollydolly · 18/04/2026 16:05

I'll probably get shot down in flames but I feel really sorry for her. I think she's lost, vulnerable, she's always going on about all the blokes she's slept with, her abortion, her rape. I think her curse is her privileged upbringing, busy parents, one an alcoholic who suffers from depression. She's got awful opinions but she reminds me of my younger self .. constantly seeking male approval, not happy in her own body, a lost soul. Yes she's bloody awful, but what she needs in her life is some of the women on here to teach her some self respect and self worth. I was fascinated by that video, not for what she said, but her body language. I suspect she's had an awful upbringing, no-ones every said no to her, constantly looking for her dads approval, full of insecurities. She's 32, she talks like a 14 year old. Sad. She needs some terfs in her life.

My pity for her is almost completely offset by contempt for how vile her comments are but either way, that video is going to follow her around forever now. The internet never forgets...

Like what happens to women, then? But less often with the generous side of rape threats and sexual shaming.

I agree that from her presentation, she is probably vulnerable. If I were her parent, I would be very worried about her association with CC. But then again, I haven’t replaced my brain cells with the be kind mantra.

soupycustard · 18/04/2026 16:40

Not only misogyny, but ageism, and, frankly, there is always a whiff of really unpleasant snobbery - I'm not sure that's quite the right word - towards women who aren't part of a sort of government-adjacent elite; a 'them' the proles, the karens, the boring workaday women; and 'us', in the media and with our exciting and oh-so-progressive views. Is that why nurses seem to be in the firing line from these kinds?

I completely agree.

She performs so much, even with her mother.

I can also imagine the parents, professionals at the top of their game, fitting her in.

Occasionally.

You have hit the nail on the head re political class.

They look down on those they are supposed to represent.

It is a big problem usually but will now become a massive problem if the economy gets worse.

You've been on these threads for quite a while now. Were you really unable to predict that your opinion on whether or not you consider a bunch of women (and one deluded man) 'presentable' may not be welcomed by all?

I’ve just done some googling of her and her stuff and I agree. She seems to have a pathological need for male validation, hence the calling feminists ugly with bad hair and clothes. It’s quite sad and especially given that she is already 32. I also watched a clip where she’s talking about her dad getting into fights and punching people. Fiona Millar seems nice but she’s very clever, quite cold/sarcastic and attractive and Grace probably felt she never measured up. FM is also very funny which Grace, despite the comedian career, isn’t. All the stuff about promiscuity and then getting raped is also really sad.

soupycustard · 18/04/2026 17:05

Whilst her background can maybe explain her behaviour, I find it hard to excuse it. Especially at her age. Sometimes we have to fight through the (very real) shit that life throws at us and not let it turn us into a shit ourselves. Especially a shit who seems to think that as the scion of the political classes, she has a right to 'punch down'. So I can sympathise with her backstory (and actually I'm sure far far too many of us can sympathise over rape) but I can't get over how completely horrible she seems to be. Her life difficulties are not the fault of a bunch of ordinary women trying desperately to protect hard-won rights.

Glowingup · 18/04/2026 17:37

I think all the Campbell children have issues. The eldest, Rory, was arrested for fraud and conned investors out of millions of pounds running some dodgy gambling syndicate. The middle child is/was an alcoholic and then there’s Grace. AC seems to have rage issues (Peter Capaldi in the Thick of It was based on him) and alcohol issues and maybe all the kids were neglected.

I agree that there are times when she sounds desperate. My exposure to her has been limited, but she always comes across to me as somebody who is short of ideas but desperately wants to be somebody who has ideas.

Perhaps like a politician who wants to be a politician more than they have any particular political convictions or interest in policy. Ok, perhaps that doesn’t really rule out many politicians, but perhaps you know what I mean.

Or someone who wants to be a teacher but who doesn’t much like children and isn’t interested in how people learn. That sort of thing.

It’s like someone who wants to be an artist but who has nothing to say and doesn’t know what they want to paint. She likes the idea of being Someone, but that’s the start in the end of it.

Perhaps it’s because she’s got two such well-known and strong minded parents, she doesn’t know how to fill the vacuum.

I think she’s just a horrible, spoilt, cunt. She’s 32 years old. If she’s horrid at this point, she’s horrid. Shes no-ones job to save. Her smug attitude just seals it. I hope she does feel less than, deep down.
