Late night surprise about reputation of FWR

I was on Site Stuff to report back on ongoing freezing and noticed another thread about whether Mumsnet should apologise about deleting threads about ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

And there were some comments about there being a border line between legitimate criticism of Israel's policies and anti semitism. And it is this last that get these threads deleted.

So was surprised to see some comment on this thread saying it was as bad as some threads on FWR, and those particularly at fault are thos with a GC view point.

(Funnily enough AI suggested a title for this thread along the lines of "Are FWR debates judged differently ..... " but now it has hidden its suggestion, just when I was going to use it.)

Considering there is supposedly only 6 posters on here and the rest are just sock puppets, this board must be a breeze to moderate.

There was that male poster who also declared that he calculated how many he saw in a pic of a rally once . I think it was j j / barley, or someone from back then.

If anyone wants a hostile board, try The Doghouse. If you get with the program there, all is good. But admit to buying a crossbred puppy from your mate's mum, telling your dog off or otherwise veering from the One True Path, and you'll be patronised, criticised and have people implying that you shouldn't have a dog.

Established posters on this board are models of patience and civility by comparison.

I agree this isn't the worst board to have an opinion.

The problem here is language as much as anything. TRA want to call women cis, only mention a man is male when relevant, decide when its relevant, control the definition of feminism. Anything else is a hostile environment.

Women dont want to follow those rules. They want to call a man a man.

And it is a feminist board on a parenting website called Mumsnet. Women have made the site what it is.

How far would I get going into a trans site trying to debate under my rules? Then claiming its the users who are wrong, not me because I have no problem other sites?

It is a collection of individual posters, which varies all the time. They may or may not come onto the site/thread, depending on the day/the subject/what's happening irl. Many name change all the time so we don't even have consistency there.

May I ask why you felt the need to start an apology with the word 'sigh?' In the UK, that pretty much says 'I can't believe I'm having to do this,' which rather spoils the point.

You've chosen to post on a UK forum, so it'd be only kind to make sure you don't inadvertently cause offence. I'm so sensitive that I had to have two extra chocolate biscuits (AKA cookies) with my tea when I saw I was being dismissed as 'quite intelligent' by someone I've never met. They were very nice, by the way, and I wish you well in whatever the future brings you.

The first time I ever posted on there, linking someone with a puller to a great explanation of a method that had worked for me and my dog, I got what felt like the most massive bollocking.
