Omg I'd like to put to bed yet another ridiculous argument TRAs regurgitate - that our bodies produce estrogen and testosterone naturally, and some people whose bodies don't produce enough get treatment for that so it's safe for anyone to get the same treatment.
You know what else our bodies produce naturally? Insulin. Now, some people's bodies don't produce insulin the way it's supposed to so they inject themselves with insulin when they need to. They're called diabetics. So that means it's totally safe for anyone to inject themselves with extra insulin, right?
WRONG! Look up what happens to someone who isn't a diabetic who injects themselves with insulin.
Yes all of our bodies naturally produce testosterone and estrogen. And there are all sorts of stages in our lives or physical conditions where people may need to adjust those amounts. But when you start making adjustments when it's not needed, to otherwise physically healthy bodies that are already operating and developing naturally, there are negative results just as if someone who was not a diabetic injected themselves with a ton of insulin.
Young people who receive puberty blockers receive them because their glands that control puberty turn on earlier than they should - resulting in negative physical issues. Older women who take HRT do so because their body stops producing a healthy level of hormones. But if your body is already producing a healthy and normal amount of hormones, overloading it with a bunch of extra hormones causes a whole host of physical problems, big ones like increased rish of stroke and heart issues, even increases your cancer risk.
Medicines exist to treat the body when something is physically wrong with it. If there's nothing physically wrong with you and you're pumping your body full of things that your body doesn't need it's going to have the opposite effect.
This is obvious to all of us with working brains.
