Are the hormones that transgender females encouraged to change / reduce the same as the ones middle aged women are encouraged to increase to prevent bone damage and dementia ?

Except.. You do know that men have estrogen, and women have testosterone right? And increased doses are routinely prescribed to non-trans patients to elevate the levels of both.

It's really basic stuff you can google.

Omg I'd like to put to bed yet another ridiculous argument TRAs regurgitate - that our bodies produce estrogen and testosterone naturally, and some people whose bodies don't produce enough get treatment for that so it's safe for anyone to get the same treatment.

You know what else our bodies produce naturally? Insulin. Now, some people's bodies don't produce insulin the way it's supposed to so they inject themselves with insulin when they need to. They're called diabetics. So that means it's totally safe for anyone to inject themselves with extra insulin, right?

WRONG! Look up what happens to someone who isn't a diabetic who injects themselves with insulin.

Yes all of our bodies naturally produce testosterone and estrogen. And there are all sorts of stages in our lives or physical conditions where people may need to adjust those amounts. But when you start making adjustments when it's not needed, to otherwise physically healthy bodies that are already operating and developing naturally, there are negative results just as if someone who was not a diabetic injected themselves with a ton of insulin.

Young people who receive puberty blockers receive them because their glands that control puberty turn on earlier than they should - resulting in negative physical issues. Older women who take HRT do so because their body stops producing a healthy level of hormones. But if your body is already producing a healthy and normal amount of hormones, overloading it with a bunch of extra hormones causes a whole host of physical problems, big ones like increased rish of stroke and heart issues, even increases your cancer risk.

Medicines exist to treat the body when something is physically wrong with it. If there's nothing physically wrong with you and you're pumping your body full of things that your body doesn't need it's going to have the opposite effect.

This is obvious to all of us with working brains.

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 27/03/2026 12:20

It's be some weeks since AidaP gave us the benefit of his made up biology, it was bollocks last, this time and every time.

I would think that messing around with your natural hormone production would have consequence later in life for female's. The menopause is a very definite physical event, male's don't experience anything that is the equivalent of it, all though obviously as they age things change.

It would be wrong for anyone to dismiss the justifiable concerns there are for the long term effects of the mis-use of powerful medication, especially as there is no benefit to be had from taking them because it is not possible for human being to change sex.

Coatsoff42 · 27/03/2026 12:32

If you’re taking cross sex hormones you’re signing up for a lifetime of blood tests, monitoring levels, adjusting prescriptions, worrying about collecting prescriptions, paying for prescriptions, managing side effects, dealing with GPs, dealing with endocrinologist, explaining to health care workers like A&E and routine blood tests for other things…
All to manage a mental health problem.

Marlene Dietrich: '🎶I can't hhhhellllp it'
My mother: 'If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all'
😁

Quoting my own post because I owe it to my mother to clarify that she was a lot more kick-ass than that, she used to say 'If you can't say anything nice...' to stop siblings squabbles, not to stifle us standing up for ourselves when necessary. Smile
And I had no idea there was so much German influence on my behaviour!Confused

It looks like AidaP has left the discussion, perhaps having* *had a
'Feck, I'm not just making myself look like an eejit with my pseudo-medical 'facts', I'm making myself look like a buck-eejit!'
moment. A wise move...

I wonder will a replacement buck-eejit get drafted in?

😂 It is absolutely ridiculous on here, I honestly worry about people when the level of bonkers Cluedo is like this 😁

Igneococcus · 27/03/2026 13:52

I actually do think AidaP thought this was a question about men taking female hormones looking at Aida's first responses, because surely nobody would start a thread about women (unless they are transwomen).

What, that they've said that's what their user name is based on? Or is that just your fevered take as you know they're trans?

"And body was designed for both hormones btw, it's made of singular mold, this is another thing well understood and tested over decades that the body will do by whatever hormones it is introduced with. It's quite marvelous really how little of a fuck the body minds."

Fucking hell. This is grim reading.

Did we ever need another example of just how dismissive of female people's health male people are?

Side effects to puberty blockers and male levels of testosterone on female bodies.... "It's quite marvelous really how little of a fuck the body minds."

It's quite marvelous really how little of a fuck the body minds.

When you see it, you cannot unsee it.

Nice use of the bigly words Helleofa 😁

I wonder if our visitor thinks human bodies are like Morph’s, malleable plasticine that can be played with and reshaped with no consequences 🤔

I tend to notice that the vast majority of discussion on transgender people is focussed on the male kind - you would almost think that sex matters even then

A lot of the kerfuffle about the olympics ignored the trans men already competing in the female category without any uproar.

It is remarkable just how often those male people show just how little they know about female bodies. You know, the bodies that they claim to have, but know fuck all about.

When they speak is it tends to be all about the male people.

Ah right, I thought you were referring to the trans-ness and the kink.

But you meant the name - no, that was simply my take on his name. You know, like those pathetic drag names men make up because they're oh so hilarious...

DeanElderberry · 27/03/2026 15:04

If AidaP thought the conversation was about men and boys it would also explain the apparent lack of understanding of the manifestations of premature puberty in a little (under 8 yoa) girl, and why medical intervention might be considered.

MassiveWordSalad · 27/03/2026 15:13

Yes we’re all just visitors really. But just try and visit Reddit to discuss gender critical feminism - you get banned in the name of ‘transphobia’. Here, anyone can have their two cents and get their arse handed to them when they talk bollocks.

No, they’re a lovely lot over on trans uk Reddit. I’ve seen posts about trying to kill Maya, although that one got deleted to be fair, and about activating 150 decibel rape alarms & being ‘loud & disruptive’ at the 11th April rallies.

What’s not to like?

Yes, I wish a journalist would ask one of these trans identifying female WHY they are competing in the female category.

Surely to be their ‘true selves’ they need to be in the male category? or do they need less validation than the trans identifying males?

Absolutely. Can we not let yet another disingenuous person who either hasn't bothered reading the OP properly, or is pretending not to, derail yet another thread?

I do find it interesting what we are told as female people and what risks aren't really discussed (bone density etc... incredibly important as we age)
