ECJ: EU law trumps national law on gender change register.

I can't see a thread on this yet so apologies if there already is one.

From what I can gather, this new EU ruling effectively means that if you have a gender change in one country (in the form of self-id for example), this must be recognised in any other EU country, including perhaps the country you're actually from.. EU law overrides the laws in any individual EU country, even if that country does not recognise a legal sex change.
This highlights just how entrenched trans ideology is in our political systems. It's unbelievable.

And this is why there is political traction about not giving up any political sovereignty.

People put it in terms of Brexit, but that's really a secondary level element. The primary issue is which leaders are really responsible to the electorate. As long as it really is the case, or people believe that it is the case, that a body like the human rights court, EU, or UN, can't actually impose things on nations, they are often amenable to international cooperation. But as soon as it appears that the decisions of politicians in Ireland or wherever, who have no responsibility to, and are not influenced by you, are going to be able to push major social or political change on your nation - well, people are not so keen.
