It's good to hear about a novel about a topic like that winning serious attention. A lot of good novels written recently have lesbian MCs, but as far as I can see, topics like this aren't addressed so much.
The discrimination lesbian mothers in the 80s was terrible. I learnt most of what I know from info I got on FWR, it should be discussed more.

Sounds like a very interesting book. I listened to that Radio 4 series with horror, and in fact I now see I started the thread linked above.
