Latest on their campaign to include males. Trying to get round the law and their own charitable aims. Girls just aren’t important enough on their own!
From their latest FB post-

“How we’re exploring future opportunities for trans girls and trans women to connect with and be supported by Girlguiding ⬇️

In December last year, our equality and diversity policy changed following the Supreme Court’s decision on sex and gender. Since then, we’ve been making steady progress with the taskforce to explore how trans girls and trans women can connect with and be supported by Girlguiding in the future. Over 3,000 of you responded to our taskforce.

The taskforce is a community of around 500 people with a common interest, who come together to share information, generate ideas and explore different ways of offering support. A big part of the taskforce is our panel of 16 people, including people with lived experience, senior volunteers, members, young people, country and region staff and volunteers, parents and carers and subject matter experts.

The taskforce as a whole is considering over 100 ideas which have been grouped into themes, and the theme being discussed right now is ‘showing support for trans girls, trans women and the trans+ community’. Ideas in this theme include holding events, creating activities and campaigns.

We’ll keep you updated on the progress of the taskforce on social media and our website. See here for more information: https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/information-for-volunteers/updates-for-our-members/taskforce-updates/.

Someone asked how many members- from gguk website:
We're 300,000 girls between 4 and 18 who come together to laugh, learn and have adventures. We're 23,000 groups in communities across the UK. And we're 80,000 volunteers who make guiding happen by giving their time, talents and enthusiasm.

That was my question, thank you.

So if the number of volunteers is 80,000, and the task force of 500 comes from that group, it's less than 1% of guiding volunteers pushing this.

Once again a tiny number of people having a completely disproportionate and outsized influence. That is how activism works in general - the vast majority of people aren't activists or interested at all - but in this case its a tiny number who managed to create a culture of fear and silence in the majority.

Im one of the 500.

so far I have been asked to fill in a very basic survey which was floating the idea of large style community events that include trans people.

i said great idea as long as they are genuinely welcome to ALL people and comply with the very sensible SC judgement.

tbh I was up for a fight but the whole thing was so watered down so as to obviously be a pandering to the trans rights activists without any teeth.

in a funny way it was quite reassuring.

Oh that's interesting! I take back my comment that the task force is a tiny proportion of volunteers who are activists!

They invited all volunteers to apply to join the task force and asked us about our views and then say they selected the 500 from a cross section of views.
my inclusion suggests that’s true- I know only a sample of one but a few years ago my opinions if expressed publicly on a gg forum could have got me banned.

That does seem like some progress and I'm glad to be wrong (or at least partially wrong, as you say you're a sample of one). I hope including you isn't an isolated case and you get to express your opinion without being shouted down. I'm not involved in girlguiding at all but thank you for raising your head above the parapet.

But by accepting trans children in they are essentially becoming mixed sex

They would only be mixed sex, if they allowed transgirls and transwomen in.

Am I missing something? Just take the girl part out and be guides mixed sex like scouts did what is with all the handwringing nonsense yes they will still need to have sex segregation for tents but with (allegedly) so many trans children they should be able to have their own tents? Trans girls in one trans boys in the other?

Why so much fucking ANGST

Right - and they should just take the Alcoholics part out of Alcoholics Anonymous or the Health part out of the World Health Organisation - hmmm.

Well it would be more inclusive if alcoholics anonymous included non-alcoholics.

Hmm, it's almost like the mindless pursuit of extreme "inclusion" at all costs misses the point.

Are you high? That's not a logical comparison

Igmum · 07/03/2026 18:30

Why not? That is just as central to those organisations as being a biological female is to Guides.
