Latest on their campaign to include males. Trying to get round the law and their own charitable aims. Girls just aren’t important enough on their own!

“How we’re exploring future opportunities for trans girls and trans women to connect with and be supported by Girlguiding ⬇️

In December last year, our equality and diversity policy changed following the Supreme Court’s decision on sex and gender. Since then, we’ve been making steady progress with the taskforce to explore how trans girls and trans women can connect with and be supported by Girlguiding in the future. Over 3,000 of you responded to our taskforce.

The taskforce is a community of around 500 people with a common interest, who come together to share information, generate ideas and explore different ways of offering support. A big part of the taskforce is our panel of 16 people, including people with lived experience, senior volunteers, members, young people, country and region staff and volunteers, parents and carers and subject matter experts.

The taskforce as a whole is considering over 100 ideas which have been grouped into themes, and the theme being discussed right now is ‘showing support for trans girls, trans women and the trans+ community’. Ideas in this theme include holding events, creating activities and campaigns.

I would never let me daughter join Brownies and Guides and it just gets worse and worse. So male children are now actually being prioritised over females if they are spending this amount of time and money on a "taskforce".

I hope it's not done using Guide's time, money or facilities.

Am I missing something? Just take the girl part out and be guides mixed sex like scouts did what is with all the handwringing nonsense yes they will still need to have sex segregation for tents but with (allegedly) so many trans children they should be able to have their own tents? Trans girls in one trans boys in the other?

Boys with a gender identity have never had any business in Girl Guides. It’s all about crossing boundaries - enormous safeguarding red flag. Why not join scouts, they can hold their gender identity there perfectly fine… but it’s about breaking down girls (in this case - women’s too in others), places, their safety, their dignity.

Scouts is already mixed sex. Guiding is (supposed to be) just for girls.

Also, did they ever say what was happening with the boys currently in girl guides? I’m sure they would be confirming ‘next week’ months ago when they said no new boys can join but didn’t? Unless I missed it?

Well my lived experience means I have even less trust in those males who believe they are women or boys, not to destroy even more groups for women and girls. Does that not count?

I don't like this either, however what GGs say in their guff and what actually happens are two separate things.

My DD's Brownies unit is run by a group of older, eminently sensible and robust women. They're all about 'the girls' and they are passionate about empowering girls. As long as these types of people continue to run the groups, GG can spout whatever ridiculous bullshit they want.

so far I have been asked to fill in a very basic survey which was floating the idea of large style community events that include trans people.

i said great idea as long as they are genuinely welcome to ALL people and comply with the very sensible SC judgement.

tbh I was up for a fight but the whole thing was so watered down so as to obviously be a pandering to the trans rights activists without any teeth.

in a funny way it was quite reassuring.

which is why I never quit as a volunteer before they changed stance.

Because it's an erosion of women's and girls' rights to have single sex spaces.

Disagree. Guides is for girls, girls should be allowed something just for them because the dynamic changes when boys are there.
For what it’s worth I think making scouts mixed was a mistake but there’s no going back on that now

I do hope the events for trans women and girls won’t be paid for out of money that should be spent on the actual girls!😡

Because the only reason Guides exists at all is to be a group for girls only.

There are already multiple other children's groups: Girls/Boys Brigade if you want a Christian group, Woodcraft folk if you are a bit crunchy, Cadets if you want a bit military, St John's for first aiding, Scouts for outdoorsy stuff and so on.

The only unique selling point of Guides is that it's like Scouts but girls only. If it goes mixed sex it's pointless.

This makes me so angry- every survey Guiding have done has shown girls like the girl only space. If they wanted a mixed sex group, the girls would join Scouts, but they joined Guides, because as I’ve been told many times over the years by the young people themselves, they want a girl only group.

Someone asked how many members- from gguk website:
We're 300,000 girls between 4 and 18 who come together to laugh, learn and have adventures. We're 23,000 groups in communities across the UK. And we're 80,000 volunteers who make guiding happen by giving their time, talents and enthusiasm.

I’m one of those older, sensible and robust Leaders. And we will continue to run as we always have. Girl lead and empowering the next generation. Your support of your Leaders is much appreciated.

As I recall the survey could be completed by anyone, so I'm sure it was bombarded with TRA responses who have never had any involvement in Girlguiding. Same as the ponds.

I've had more emails about this from GG hq than I have ever had from them on any other topic in the 2 years my kid has been going to rainbows. How about you focus on the girls?
