DS primary school just announced No Outsiders programme for PSHE

As soon as I read the email my heart sank, there’s a ‘parent information session’ next week. Does anyone have any ideas of questions I need to be asking, links to articles or information I can bring up in the session?

Why do you need to be told what to ask? If something makes your heart sink surely that means you already have an idea of what you want to ask in response to that.

Because I recognised the name No Outsiders and I know that posters here have come across them before. I’ve looked at some old posts but wondered if there was more relevant things to bring up/question post Cass/SC. Ultimately I’m very worried as legal guardians of an ASD 5yr old who has experienced early trauma and is more like a 3-4yr old that the school is now going to start teaching him ‘born in the wrong body’ shit!

I should note that the two things I linked above are pre-SC.

That No Outsiders thread was mine, before my name change.

They use resources that state that gender is the protected characteristic, rather than sex.

They certainly used to state that everyone has a gender identity, and that children could be born in the wrong body.

Thanks WeMeet, those are the questions I wanted to ask. Are you teaching ‘born in the wrong body’ the website has ‘My Brother George’ by Zoey/Kelly Allen and ‘You Need To Chill’ by Juno Dawson as books to use for teaching PSHE! I’m not letting them try and teach him these books are reality or to be kind he should accept what they say! Stop teaching our kids gender identity bollocks ffs

Well done OP for picking this up and complaining. No Outsiders is written by activists. One may have a teaching background but they are wedded (openly) to "queering" primary education, misrepresent the law and promote gender identity to children far to young to understand this adult concept.

Generally, posters with names made up of 3 words, often including a shade of blue (or green?) can safely be ignored. Obviously this might not always be true, but often……

I had to re read that twice as OP mine was blue lol but to be clear my border collies are crazy, just not as crazy as gender ideology!

OP, I hope you've got enough info to use at the information evening.

My question would be "How does No Outsiders explain the meanings of biological sex, sexual orientation and gender identity so that the differences between them are clear to the children?"

I can't imagine they'll be able to answer it on the evening (given it doesn't do this) but it could be a way to start the conversation with the school as a follow-up.

Good luck OP, it often turns out that many staff in a school are not on board with gender identity, and it helps a lot if parents ‘give them permission’ to say so! Equally, it can be a long-winded and frustrating process to challenge. I remember WeMeet’s previous threads, and I’m sure she can help a lot
