Paloma Faith being even more of an idiot than she usually is

Obviously I'm happy for her that she's happy to be having a baby. But when she was in her mum's stomach waiting to come out, did the world think she'd decided what gender she was when she was older?
You're right Paloma, gender doesn't matter at all, so why enter in to the gender debate, why mention gender at all.
All the videos people make of their "gender reveals" are actually of sex reveals but understandably people don't want to say "come to my sex reveal party", because let's face it most people would think it involved keys in a bowl.

James Dreyfus (@DreyfusJames) on X

I sincerely hope that she has a safe, easy delivery, & that she finds herself with a happy, healthy baby. However, baby will still either be male or female, no matter it being 2026. Seems odd to directly insult your own audience in this way… Sti...

I used to like her and her music, god knows what she has turned into, she's lost the plot.

Screamingabdabz · 21/02/2026 00:30

Thick AF. 🙄

TakeTheCuntingQuichePatricia · 21/02/2026 00:48

She's an idiot. But so is anyone who says that women carry babies in their stomach. That's not a more polite version, its just wrong.

deadpan · 19/02/2026 11:11

You can be, I was using a more polite word, just like the youngsters say 'gender' reveal instead of sex reveal.

What is impolite about womb, or uterus, or even abdomen if those are too risky?

NeverTeaTea · 21/02/2026 01:04

Thick as two planks, is Paloma.

What's wrong with putting one word to the side and focussing on the main issue of the post?

FFS, it's a general word for an area of the body. Of course I know where babies are carried I've had my own. I'm not adverse to a bit of pedantry myself but making that the focus instead of a bonkers celeb saying her baby can choose it's own gender is a bit much

Who does James D care enough to repost? Random.

TheCriticalThinker · 21/02/2026 07:06

I do wonder who the thickest celebrity is. Paloma Faith, Kate Nash and Neville Southall all immediately come to mind

Actually, (apologies), it's not.
Stomach is specific.
Also, I don't believe the poster was making that the FOCUS of anything, twas just a comment, as she clearly said!
Yes, Paloma Faith is an absolute idiot.

hholiday · 21/02/2026 07:25

She’s never been much of a friend to women so I’m not exactly surprised. Natalie Cassidy said she was a bully when they were at school together. I guess she knew what girls were back when she was picking on them in the playground.

deadpan · 21/02/2026 07:35

@hholiday I never knew that about her. Once you're famous there's always someone with receipts.

James has been an advocate for the rights of women, girls and LGB for many years now (to his own detriment) and regularly points out this type of nonsense for exactly what it is..

AreYouSureAskedNaomi · 21/02/2026 12:03

Oh she comes across really badly in the video. Does she have a history with drugs that maybe could have cause cognitive issues?

Anouken · 21/02/2026 15:38

Boys have a penis, girls do not, 2026 or any year.

PriOn1 · 21/02/2026 15:53

ItsCoolForCats · 19/02/2026 11:10

These celebrity can post their silly rants on their Instagram or whatever, but could you imagine if any of them actually had to debate the issues with someone like Akua Reindorf?

I suspect they might not actually be able to understand each other and Faith would claim victory either way.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 21/02/2026 15:56

She’s as ridiculous as Olivia Coleman.

MagpiePi · 21/02/2026 16:08

Shes going to be soooo disappointed if she has a heterosexual child who decides that gender identity is a load of old shite.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh · 21/02/2026 16:19

🫠

Allmarbleslost · 21/02/2026 16:26

It's been a while since I cringed that hard. How embarrassing.

well exactly. That was how she was found to have lied about her age as well! not even by a year or two but knocking nearly half a decade off. You've got to be pretty stupid to think you'll get away with that as a celebrity, as everyone you knew growing up will obviously know how old you really are!

deadpan · 21/02/2026 16:37

@tokennamechange I didn't know that about her either, what a silly cow.

I'd say "belly" for midsection, the bit of the body above the pelvis and below the breastbone. It saves argument about exactly which bit of it is being discussed. Belly is probably rude as in the Flanders and Swann song "Pee Po Belly Bum Drawers".

Reluctantly being fair, this silly woman did say her baby will be whatever it decides to be when it is old enough to decide its own identity, so not completely doolally.

And I think it probably can choose its own gender; what it can't choose is its sex.

Most people haven't "argued" because they knew what I meant. Some have just to pick holes.
Of course what she said was do lally, because she conflates identity, sex and gender. Gender is just a word, it isn't the same as our identity which is the whole of ourselves encompassing our character, interests, biological sex, sexual orientation and lots of other things. Some we can choose, but our sex we can't.

I've never seen her in action before, but what an idiot.
'It'll be whatever it wants to be when it's old enough to decide its own identity!'
REALLY, Paloma? A boy can decide to develop a uterus, a girl to grow a penis?

Are you off your trolley?
