Why has WPUK gone quiet?

CatsCatsCatsCatsCatsCat · 13/02/2026 02:16

WPUK used to be leading the gender critical cause in the UK, but they’ve been very quiet the past few years?

On their website, their last blog post is from 2024?

Woman's Place UK

Violence against women and sex discrimination still exist. Women need reserved places, separate spaces and distinct services.

This reminds of the old days, with a reversal.

Back then, we used to get AGPs coming on to WPUK threads berating us for not being nice enough to WPUK.

Now you come here on a WPUK thread telling us off for not being nice enough about AGPs and lobbing gratuitous insults at Tinsel.

How about answering my question? I will frame it slightly differently in case it was too oblique for you:

"Would you consider whether, strategically, it might be worth your while promoting the insights that Transwidows and Children of Transitioners have gained from living and suffering up close and personal with the reality of AGP?

Rather than the self-serving, exculpatory narratives woven by abusive men?"

Yes I would absolutely prefer to promote transwidows voices and children of Transitioners voices. Sadly the transwidows voices website is extremely limited. There are tens of thousands of transwidows in Britain but the website has not managed to attract these women to the organisation. I think it has just 20 stories? Nobody public. These women need help and support and it is sad that this website can’t manage to help them

Great. I’m limited for time due to single parenthood, hence the limitations of the website. I agree that it’s a pity I’ve not been able to do more, but I’ve done my best.

Due to needing to prioritise my own work and family, I’ve been thinking about packing it in for a while so it’ll be good to have somebody else to take over. What do you propose to do to promote trans widows more effectively? Pitch it here and women can get behind it.

Particularly I’d be interested to see how and why you’d encourage domestic abuse victims to be more public?

You are confusing two different issues.

You cannot know how many women and children transwidows work has helped and the support they have recieved. I'm assuming tinsel didnt start it with the aim of getting together a team of public speakers.

It wasn't that WPUK couldnt find women to speak, its that the made a decision to let a man speak and therefore exclude women.

Sorry, it was late. I should have made it clear that I choose to believe the trans widows and children.

I am pleased to hear it ❤️

So the Mumsnet FWR "Trans Widows Escape Committee" threads, started by Tinsel on 1 Dec 2017, count for nothing in your eyes?

That's nine years of support for Trans Widows dismissed out of hand.

All because only 20 women have put themselves through the trauma of recounting the abuse they suffered, providing a public service for free, in order to bring public attention to what it actually means when people glibly say, "Keep it behind closed doors! I don't want to see these men parading their fetish in public!"

What have you been doing to support trans widows and children of transitioners for the last nine years? What do you intend to do in future?

CatsCatsCatsCatsCatsCat · 23/02/2026 00:18

@Unusualdog

May I ask, are you actually a woman?

And do you actually support women’s rights?

Coming onto a women’s rights forum and criticizing a known and loved campaigner (Tinsel) for not doing enough unpaid work is extremely crass.

You could just save yourself some time and link to your Trans Widows Support site which I am sure is busting open with the gazillions of women you are supporting through the most horrific experiences and the resources you have developed to help them all manoevre this situation.

Unusualdog is probably too busy examining the financial records of all the major GC women's rights groups in the UK to find out what their staff are earning, after asking on the "WRN Implosion" thread where these could be found.

ps. Unusualdog had never heard of Filia, so has quite a bit of swotting up to do about the women's sector for someone who is apparently so deeply concerned about supporting and promoting Trans Widows.
