Kirstie Allsop

Has anyone seen Kirstie Allsopp scolding people on X for not being kind?

It all started because JKR posted about India Willoughby finally blocking her. According to KA, this makes JKR a vile bully.

Of course, KA has nothing to say about the years of abuse IW has directed at JKR. Such as that time last year when IW questioned JKR's version of events regarding her abusive first husband, because you know, there are two sides to every story, and JKR'S husband said he only slapped her that one time. And KA doesn't chastise people like India for this type of behaviour because they are part of the THE MOST MARGINALISED GROUP EVER (way more than women who have been abused by their partners). So it's absolutely fine for them to hurl misogynistic abuse on social media. Women must BE KIND, especially high profile women like JKR, and rise above this.

Kirstie's view is that if we could all be jolly well nice and polite to each other, the world would be a much better place and none of this would be an issue. And she is very proud that her views have not changed one inch over the last few years, despite all the evidence presented to her that unquestioningly going along with gender ideology causes harm to women. Because Kirstie is better than the rest of us and knows how to take the moral high ground.

She does have a habit of doing this on all sorts of issues.

There is a pattern

It must be nice to go through life with her sort of bullet-proof/teflonesque conviction that you are absolutely right on everything and self-doubt simply isn't necessary Hmm

TheatreTheatre · 22/01/2026 11:48

If only her mouth was connected to a brain.

I have not forgiven her for stirring up the whole Freedom Pass froth by having a stupid pop at Michael Rosen.

I turn off any programme she is in or associated with.

She hasn’t done too badly, so I suppose that might explain her confidence.

I think a lot of celebs deal with unfair criticism by not listening to any criticism, so I expect she ignores the replies, and so doesn’t learn anything.

TwelvePiecesOfFlair · 22/01/2026 11:52

I don’t particularly have an opinion on Kirsty Allsop, other than I like her on location location, but even if she said something a bit daft on Twitter it doesn’t warrant this sort of online Burn Book. I just hate this sort of thing. Even rich celebs are humans with actual feelings.

Greyskybluesky · 22/01/2026 11:55

this sort of online Burn Book

Do you mean here?
We're allowed to discuss "celebs" and the stupid things they say.

RobinEllacotStrike · 22/01/2026 12:03

It really is very impressive how some people- kirstie included - can seem to engage so much with a highly topical issue and yet remain so willfully ignorant.

she has done nothing really to engage with the issues women are raising. Her only contribution is to beat us all with the UNKIND WITCHES & BE KIND sticks.

I suspect she’s an example of the Japanese soldier left on a Pacific Island. Someone close to her has transed their child and she determines to remain in the thrall of the gender cult forever & ever & ever.

If you say stupid things on the Internet, others are entitled to call them stupid on the Internet.

RobinEllacotStrike · 22/01/2026 12:17

If Kirstie dared to read this article by Naomi Cunningham (for example) do you think she would be capable of digesting the contents & responding in a meaningful way? Would she think, "wow these are some interesting points, NC's a Terf though, let me investigate further on my own"? I don't think she would. I think she would simply dismiss everythig as unkind because all she wasnts to do is push a TRA agenda!!

Please prove me wrong Kirstie

She's made it clear for years that she dislikes books and distrusts people who promote literacy, that's why she went after Michael Rosen. I used to accept that was a response to her own experiences at a school that dealt badly with her dyslexia, but increasingly I think it's resentment that education enables the lower orders to get uppish.

SidewaysOtter · 22/01/2026 12:36

Jesus, really? Just when I thought I couldn't dislike her more...

Seagullstopitnow · 22/01/2026 12:38

I can't get my head around someone being against books!

She seems to think she's well educated, how so if she dislikes books?

How on earth can anyone take her seriously?

So, you agree she shouldn’t be censuring JK Rowling then?

Greyskybluesky · 22/01/2026 12:42

Her criticism of Michael Rosen was really unpleasant and uncalled for

I used to quite like KA back in the olden days when all she did was wear flouncy dresses and boss Phil Spencer and other male wet blankets around on telly.

Classic case of someone who shouldn't be allowed social media.

Yes, before she opened her mouth and came out with an opinion, she was great! Should have stuck to just looking pretty in flouncy dresses.
Yes, you're right, some women just shouldn't be allowed social media/a voice. I mean, they might come out with a wrong opinion or something.
Wait, what?

<disclaimer> not my view just thinking hang on, this is the "feminism" board, right?! 🙄😁

Is she related to Kenneth Allsopp , the broadcaster and journalist?

yes, even rich celebs like JKR has actual feelings but Kirsty doesn't care.

I don't see anyone saying she shouldn't have an opinion because she's a woman. They're saying someone should bother to actually understand the issues before they issue forth their judgment on the matter.

It has nothing to do with her sex.

As the comment says though, she should stick to looking pretty and not be allowed social media.

meh.

Kirsty is in the FO stage of FAFO

she is a disgrace to womankind

DeanElderberry · 22/01/2026 13:05

I'm a feminist. I hold women to the same standard as men. If someone establishes a pattern over years of repeatedly expressing an attitude that I find loathsome (including attacking actual people) I will criticise that.

haha. no.

People aren't threatening her with death in a fat fire. Or anything.
Or even telling her to STFU (much as i would like to)

She needs to stop speaking about things she knows nothing about though. A bit of brain engagement might show her that some of the things she has posted are not only without merit, they are utterly fucking incomprehensibly stupid.

And people are allowed to tell her that. As often as they like.

ShowMeTheSea · 22/01/2026 13:15

Nobody said they were?! So because some psycho's said that before, anything else is fair game?!
Not sure what kind of logic that is.

murasaki · 22/01/2026 13:19

She obviously missed the message that
'It is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and prove it'.

That was an apt moment to post that quote!

😂

Floisme · 22/01/2026 13:30

I think she's perfectly entitled to speak about things she knows nothing about.
And others are equally entitled to point it out when she does.
