Trans Liaison Nurse and previous chair of Pride struck off nursing over ‘sexual’ examinations

I will try to link the article. This is a case of a minority of a minority doing the kind of thing that people may be weary of. The LGBT community are swimming against the tide and stories like this will only amplify the concerns already being expressed.

OP posts:

"Please Nurse Paedo, will you stop being so paedoy We know you are doing examinations which aren't clinically indicated and sexually abusing children illegally but do you think you can just stop it? Pretty please"

Cos thats going to work.

Has no one at the hospital grasped that a criminal asked to stop being a criminal politely isn't much of a deterrent?!

I’m confused as to why the police were not involved?

They were.

The strike off used police (criminal investigation) interview statements.

He has (now) admitted to the facts that he put his hands on the boys with documented proof that he had no medical reason and no documented proof he had asked for "informed consent" (imo a child cant give it because there was no medical reason).
They have independent witnesses.
Multiple documented instance.

Please convicted paedophile tell us if you change your name to a girlie name and then apply for jobs working with kids. Its ok if you dont though.

"Bradbury has admitted 25 offences, including sexual assault, voyeurism and possessing more than 16,000 indecent images"

Seems not dissimilar to Dr Myles Bradbury who also performed unnecessary intimate examinations, albeit he also recorded them using a spy pen and had a massive catalogue of indecent images.

Have the police even checked this man's hard drive?
He has to be prosecuted and the hospital do a full investigation (where lessons will be learned). It's absolutely disgraceful.

Myles Bradbury

Doctor Myles Bradbury jailed for abusing young patients

A paedophile doctor who abused young cancer patients at Addenbrooke's Hospital is jailed for 22 years.

Why was an adult nurse working on paediatric triage anyway? I thought there were quite strict rules around that.

I'm Wiltshire, though not Swindon - are there any FOIs that would be useful to send? Is it worth posters from the Swindon area contacting their MP?

MrsOvertonsWindow · 21/01/2026 10:08

Starch1e · 21/01/2026 07:56

If it is the same individual.
The individual in the York Press was sexually assaulting girls, the one in Swindon assaulted boys.

Is it really useful to trawl for people with same names and try to link them? It feels playing into the hands of TRAs to go on a paedophile hunt.

The problem is that when it appears the Police are failing to prosecute a self confessed paedophile, then people will start asking questions. Is it because the Swindon police have supported Pride and have something to hide? Or they've done him a favour because of their relationship?
Malcom Clark - a gay man - has written extensively about the issues that are repeatedly ignored:

https://thecritic.co.uk/the-lgbtq-movement-has-a-paedophile-problem/

It shouldn't be up to strangers on the internet to do the research. The NHS, the Police, local council and Swindon pride should be deluging us with the results of their investigations and actions to ensure children are safeguarded in the light of all this. Instead crickets...

I don't understand why this abuser hasn't been arrested

Me neither.

Brefugee · 21/01/2026 10:46

He "also goes by the name Rhys Cronin" - what a surprise, sexually abusive men hide behind different names.

i am confused by that. Why does he have 2 names?

Hope any nurses who are considering sueing the RCN have made note that they stood up for this sex abuser but don't stand up for women.

MarieDeGournay · 21/01/2026 10:53

When the scale of sexual abuse of children - girls as well as boys, but girls clearly don't matter as much - by Catholic priests in Ireland was revealed, it was presented as something to do with Catholicism, with clerical celibacy, etc etc/
So once the power of the Catholic church over children was sidelined, that would be that.

A few voices at the time were objecting - it's not because they are Catholic, it's not because they are priests, it's not because they are celibate, it's because they are men, and this close focus on clerical abuse is dangerous because it is overlooking the scale of sexual abuse of children in other settings - notably in the home, by fathers an brothers and uncles and so on, but also other professions with access to children, like teaching and the medical profession.

The pattern of giving paedophiles a second/third/fourth chance even after they are known to have behaved inappropriately with a child is a familiar one; moving from location to location is another one; believing that because they are priests/doctors/teachers/nurses they couldn't possibly be child abusers is also familiar and dangerous.

oldtiredcyclist · 21/01/2026 11:44

First of all, like other posters, I am shocked that this nurse isn't behind bars. How can so many incidents be overlooked, with no action taken? The following makes grim reading.

but i do agree with pp that a Trans Liaison Nurse (if they follow the law, and "be kind" to everyone not just one group of people) isn't actually a bad idea.

Does he actually claim to be a woman or is he just using another name? I don't understand how a registered nurse with a PIN etc can also go by another name? The NMC name appears to be "Name of Registrant: Mr Ashley Boyd".
Where does Rhys Cronin come in?

Rosafe · 21/01/2026 15:45

Exactly why Sarah Phillimore at Fair Cop is taking WP to court after lesbian Linzi Smith won her High Court Judgement against Northumbria Police. Police should be showing no favours to people.

Chariothorses · 21/01/2026 15:52

Although I shouldn't be surprised any more (and I'm not really) but I am so upset for the children abused, and angry because those in authority -even social workers and police - seem to give anyone vaguely associated with the word 'trans' or 'pride' a free pass.
I have no doubt there are loads more like this.

SirChenjins · 21/01/2026 16:05

Absolutely horrific - just awful for the children and their families. It absolutely beggars belief that he was allowed to continue working there for as long as he did.

But also - no, this never happens, male paediatric nurses are just the BEST, my child had one and he was so kind compared to the horrible female nurses, we should be encouraging more men to go into these roles and stop being so narrow minded. Blah blah blah.

It might not be a bad idea but there a lot of specialist areas in need of a liaison nurse. I’d put trans quite a long way down the list personally.
A liaison nurse for people with communication difficulties or neurodivergence would benefit a lot more people.

JanuaryCanDoOne · 21/01/2026 21:32

This undermines years of male nurses and carers (of any sexuality) work to establish themselves as equally caring, compassionate and worthy of trust.
This is also why informed consent, documentation, and chaperones are extremely important.

JanuaryCanDoOne · 21/01/2026 21:34

No. It's not the same person. Just a gross coincidence.

JanuaryCanDoOne · 21/01/2026 21:37

Those also exist. Trans patients have extremely high coverage and people in hospitals will have a reaction to their presence. But they still need care. Having someone able to put some common sense safeguards into practice and set expectations keeps everyone safe and focused on what's actually important: all patients getting better.

There was a same name Ashley Boyd youth sex crime boy age 16 in 2003. That makes him 39 now. Wonder if connected.
Article in Wilts 999 says Boyd also goes by Rhys Cronin. Odd re name change. www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/7899972.new-probe-on-sex-crime-boy/

CarefulN0w · 21/01/2026 22:05

Trans people do not exist in the numbers TRAs would like us to believe though, and Healthcare Professionals are perfectly capable of treating them with compassion, respect and dignity. There are other groups more in need of advocacy in my view.

No. He's not claiming to be a woman. I doubt the other name is even relevant. It's not mentioned anywhere else and no one in the trust used that name for him.

It's just a man in a position of trust undermining the good other male practitioners do by doing the most awful thing imaginable. It's horrendous behaviour and I can't even begin to imagine the damage it's done to the kids in question

I cared for plenty. It happens enough to be significant if managed badly.
As I said before the groups you mentioned HAVE liaisons.
But, I mean you're entitled to your opinion. There's certainly always overlooked groups and everyone should have the right to care with as little barriers as possible.
