I will try to link the article. This is a case of a minority of a minority doing the kind of thing that people may be weary of. The LGBT community are swimming against the tide and stories like this will only amplify the concerns already being expressed.

Ms Ghotra stated that there had been no application for an adjournment made by the
registrant and that his representatives, the RCN, in a letter dated 19 December
2025, informed the NMC that Mr Boyd would not be attending the hearing and nor
would he be represented. They stated that Mr Boyd was happy for the hearing to
proceed in his absence.
Ms Ghotra submitted that there was no reason to suppose that adjourning the
hearing would secure Mr Boyd’s attendance at a future date, particularly as the
registrant had informed the NMC that he was content for the hearing to proceed in

at the hearing, and an adjournment would inconvenience these witnesses who have
made themselves available.
Ms Ghotra concluded by stating that the charges relate to serious allegations
including dishonesty, and sexual motivation and there was a strong public interest in
the expeditious disposal of this case, and that it was fair and in the interests of
justice for the hearing to proceed in Mr Boyd’s absence.
The panel accepted the advice of the legal assessor.
The panel decided to proceed in the absence of Mr Boyd. The panel drew no
adverse inference from Mr Boyd’s non-attendance. In reaching this decision, the
panel has considered the submissions of Ms Ghotra, the correspondence from Mr
Boyd’s representative, and the advice of the legal assessor. It has had particular
regard to any relevant case law and to the overall interests of justice and fairness to
all parties. It noted that:
• The case relates to serious allegations and it was in the interests of
justice and there was a strong public interest to consider the case
expeditiously;

I am appalled. They left that creep abuse those kids again and again ffs! He should have been kicked out and the police called the first time he was caught doing his dodgy examinations!!! I feel sick ! And what Sandie, Jennifer and the Darlington Nurses have went through as hard working nurses !

So many concerning aspects to this story, when are the police charging him ?intimate examinations that aren’t clinically necessary is straight forward sexual assault of a minor.

The hypocrisy of the RCN supporting a pedo nurse but not a nurse who doesn’t want to undress in front of a man is appalling, every official in that union should be ashamed of themselves.

Look at page 18ish as to why they have to word it that way.

They dont have a rule that says

His crimes are eerily reminiscent of Larry Nassar - team doctor to the USA gymnastics team - who sexually assaulted hundreds of women and girls under the guise of carrying out medical examinations and treatments.

Dr Nassar was sentenced to 40-175 years imprisonment for SA while Wiltshire Police are still having a think about what to do about this guy 🙄

If it is the same individual, there should be an investigation into how he was employed and became a registered nurse.

From the Health & Social Care Act: It is a criminal offence for a person on the children's or adults' barred list to seek work in, or for an organisation to knowingly employ them in, regulated activity. (Fit & proper person’s requirements).

How did he become a student nurse?
How did he get onto the professional register?
How was he employed at a Trust delivering regulated activity? Particularly as the role sounds like it would explicitly involve working with people who may be additionally vulnerable.
And as others have pointed out, when will he be charged with the sexual assaults he committed on minors when in a position of trust?

The individual in the York Press was sexually assaulting girls, the one in Swindon assaulted boys.

Is it really useful to trawl for people with same names and try to link them? It feels playing into the hands of TRAs to go on a paedophile hunt.

It's Wiltshire Police who need to answer that.
The hospital reported to police & NMC. NMC has done its job and removed him from nursing register.
Wiltshire Police need to explain why they/CPS think it's not enough evidence for criminal investigation.

Due diligence and professional curiosity re child safeguarding to search for the same names Ashley Boyd aka Rhys Cronin. Sexual Offences by another Ashley Boyd in York were towards children hence the importance of looking into it. I believe it would make the youth offender Ashley Boyd 38 now actually.
