I’ve read the entire thread and I’m honestly disappointed noone has mentioned this investigation was for a potential breach of patient confidentiality not misgendering. She gave media interviews with a level of detail that could easily have identified the patient. Even without naming that is potentially an NMC breach.

If a nurse refused to acknowledge a patient’s same-sex partner as their husband, told them it was their “religious belief”, then went to the press after a complaint and disclosed a load of that gay patient’s personal information to the public that might have led them to be identified, people would (rightly) be furious. 😞

You’ve read the entire thread and THAT is that you’re upset about?? Not the racial abuse and attempted violence towards Jennifer? Or the behaviour of the organisations involved? Seriously??

Good news!
I didn't realise Jennifer had been demoted! So unfair

Thanks for the update. That's so good to read!

I took the photo from various newspapers stories.

Thought it was all that was needed.

Though part of me worries and just hope her workplace managers and colleagues treat her with respect.

I'd say she'll get a fair few sneaky slaps on the back.

Excellent news! Whenever I read reports about women who have been absolutely shafted by the men's rights movement I am amazed by the strength, courage and determination they show in refusing to be beaten.

MassiveWordSalad · 24/02/2026 13:32

Ah, great to see her go back in with her head held high. Go on Jennifer! 💪🏾

Melle was signed off on sick leave after the pressure of the investigation became too much for her. When she returned, she alleged, the hospital had a replacement working in her role and informed her she must reapply for another position in the trust.

Surely that cannot be legal?

I admit I didn't think you could sack someone or replace them if they're on the sick, the Union would know. Oh wait I forgot the Union don't defend members who don't 'align with their values'. Hopefully JM is now with a better Union and if it is unlawful they'll get it sorted for her. 😁

Shufflebumnessie · 24/02/2026 17:15

I'm so pleased for her. However, like many others I'm so angry that she was subjected to such ludicrous sanctions in the first place. The individuals within the NHS who are responsible for taking the initial action against her need to be held accountable for their conduct.

Oh my goodness - the staff and managers that did this to her are beyond belief. And if they are this inhuman to a well respected member of staff, what chance do the patients have?

I don’t usually call for sackings but what can they do with people this far gone?
