'left sexless'

I swear to god the SNP are brainless, misogynistic gaslighters.

And I voted for them. Twice. So what the hell does that say about me (clearly rhetorical ... before anyone chimes in). 🙁

plenty of people on these boards used to vote for SNP, or Labour, or Lib Dem, or Greens, or Tories, and have changed their minds, sometimes more than once. There's no shame in chaging one's mind. In fact I'd say it's far more sensible to do so when the evidence suggests the position has changed. Those who are still, somehow, clinging to the idea that the SNP are good, wholesome, up-and-at-em wee champions of the underdog are the ones who are utterly baffling.

At this point invoking Hanlon's Razor is the most generous I can possibly be.

It looks as if the Scottish government wants to force the hand of Westminster in amending the EA2010 to mean 'legal sex'. That is what all the posturing is about. Attempting such a change would be toxic because the general public is beginning to understand what trans rights are and what they mean for safety, dignity and privacy for women.

OpheliaWitchoftheWoods · 09/01/2026 16:21

The EqA can only be changed in favour of men wanting into women's spaces if women and homosexuals' protections in law are removed. As the SCJ explained in small words.

So the govt would have to explicitly remove those legal protections and subordinate both those groups, in law, to those of men who wish to express a gender identity. If would fix homophobia and female subordination to males on the basis of sex, in law.

Not that I don't believe they are insane enough to believe this is right or to do it, I absolutely have no doubt they do, but this is what they would have to get through parliament. And past the electorate, because this is what we would have to explain loudly and clearly to voters.

If this is some kind of attempt of the SNP to be subversive as part of their never ending two fingers up to Westminster, they're failing. Westminster are as batshit as they are. It would be at this point far more subversive to actually notice and care about the half of the human race that is female. That's so subversive it's practically become illegal.

But they have! The rapist gamete, according to the Greens leader. I wonder if it's called Spislagg, in reference to its most famous producer...

The Greens leader doesn't know what he is saying. If Isla Bryson is a rapist then in the UK that makes him a man (since rape can only be performed with a penis).
I notice none of us remember his name.

The activists should have quite while they were ahead in 2004. A fudge that makes no sense can work if nobody knows about it. Everything they have done since that has just shed more light on the flaws in the Goodwin judgement.

in an intermediate zone of neither one sex nor the other

I think this is a reference to the reasoning in the Goodwin judgement, yet somehow, even back in 2004, there was never any doubt over who should inherit a peerage.

Didn’t know prisoners were entitled to sex ?

I think it's less that we can't remember Hypnotits' real name than we don't want the feckwitted data scrapers at Aston to start prattling about his "popularity" on MN.

And they haven't paid their legal costs to FWS either!

I used to vote for the SNP. For years, they seemed to many people to be fairly sensible. Even if you didn't buy completely into the whole Independence aspect of it. Then they went absolutely radge and made themselves a laughing stock. I look back now and am astounded at how they have imploded so spectacularly. But even now, there are still people voting for them.

Along the same lines, I used to have faith and some pride in the Scottish Parliament. Now I think the whole mess needs thrown out and started again.

And seem to be getting away with it, in the same way that smashing windows and vandalising and hacking is apparently fine, and avoiding court by promising a service and then just not doing it is fine, and ignoring the SC is fine if you don't like their judgments.

Government without responsibility, integrity, honesty, accountability or internal standards.

I had not thought of that. Good reason to forget him.

SM rsch is often akin to academic "impact" scores, all those Butler citations are taken as numerical proof of her brilliance, nobody stops to ask how many times she's referenced for the purposes of pointing & laughing.
