The idea that a woman needs to be universally liked, or indeed must be nice and polite and kind to everyone who has ever crossed her path in order to be acknowledged as an expert in her field or allowed a voice, seems wildly out of place on this board.

That's a great article. I like the picture highlighting "a heckler" (beardy guy with nothing to lose if transwomen compete in women's sports).

"People like her [my mother] fought so hard for women's rights. The generations behind us don't realise how easy it is to lose those rights." So true. I look back at pictures of Afghanistan and Iran in the 1970s and think, "What the hell happened?"

And I hadn't realised Sharron was struggling for money due to standing up for women.

I am so thrilled for her, she has been such a champion of women’s rights and protecting women in sport. I also take my hat off to Kemi for nominating, because Kemi unlike Kier does know what a woman is.

I didn't realise Kemi had nominated her. I was trying to work out how her nomination could have happened!

Now I understand.
