This is the problem.
Union representatives have left any kind of logical thought behind when it’s come to the trans issue. And many trans activists have instinctively found organisations where they can be influential in advancing their own niche cause, ignoring how this one niche cause is to the detriment of 51% of working people.
It has created a space for those on the ‘right’ to step in and claim the sane, logical and majority position that sex is real. This is regardless of the right not truly being pro women but they can claim the semblance of doing so.
Both exploit the gender debate. However, it is the left who need to be held accountable for allowing this ridiculous and harmful narrative to take root and for creating the opportunity for the right to claim the moral high ground.
As others have said, I’m not leaving my union behind, it’s left me behind. It’s bloody unfair that my union relies on my commitment to collective bargaining to continue me paying my subs when it is crap at its job of protecting workers rights and spends the whole of the AGM going on about every other cause under the sun other than the one for its existence.
