Couldn’t be clearer or more important for this case, given how much this man destroyed this young woman’s life.

first paragraph

Newcastle Crown Court heard the woman was 13 when she was groped and feared she was going to be raped by Ryan Haley, a biological male who now identifies as a woman called Natalie Wolf, in the Washington area.

Also though. The photo.

Mugshot of Natalie Wolf, formerly known as Ryan Haley, who has thick long brown hair with a pink hairband in, with slight make up and pink lipstick and black-framed glasses over a pair of cross-eyed eyes.

Woman's life 'destroyed' by Newcastle childhood molester

Natalie Wolf, who was then called Ryan Haley, is jailed for sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl.

I would like to see the media referring to these people, as (for instance) "this is a 46 year old male who identifies as being a transwoman", because IMHO, there is no way they are identifying as a woman.

ArabellaSaurus · 30/11/2025 13:33

Unfortunately, not really. We know that around a third of people who read 'trans woman' think that that means a born woman.

The media needs to be clearer. He is a man. He is male.

There are many ways to say this that would clarify for the audience.

'Born male' or 'male who identifies as a woman' or 'male who calls himself a woman' or 'man who says he is a woman' all are accurate.

That's fair. I was thinking it was an improvement (and it is to an extent), but as you say even clearer language is needed.

Though I’m boaking at the inclusion of “identifies as a woman” in that para, it underlines the fact that “identifying as a woman” can be a red flag

he joins quite a gang in uk prisons now, the much higher rates of offending in this fetish addled group of men.

Yes.

Thank you for posting. It is good to see the BBC reporting more truthfully and clearly about a male sex abuser even when he says he is a woman.

Ah yes, thanks I see what you mean.

’Transwoman’ also needs translating though for most people.

Omg. I’m sorry but I burst out laughing at that picture.

Like a slightly deranged character from Wallace and Gromit.

Oh I think it’s very good for the public to realise that there are some very obvious, really quite dangerous men who “identity as women.” There’s nothing better to get the average person on the Clapham omnibus thinking “Oh do they now?”

Thank you! Would you like some of this interesting nut comestible? Grin

Indeed I would. Thank you Fudgeweazle. May I take them with me to the Bluestocking when I pop in later to check on the gerbils (actually I'm not so interested in the gerbils - I am mainly going for the sloe gin).

This was supposedly the case in England.

There is still at least one murderer (male) in women's prison in Scotland.

How have they got away with that??

ArabellaSaurus · 02/12/2025 09:13

JeannieDark · 02/12/2025 07:41

How have they got away with that??

By ignoring the law, and mounting another Judicial Review to insist that men should go to women's prisons if said men demand it.

Yes, they are yours now!

Sloe gin - good choice.

He faked being cross eyed for his mugshot? Is that legal?

Times refers to the convicted male as “she”. Trans abuser who assaulted 13-year-old claims jury was hypnotised

https://www.thetimes.com/article/dc9d1e08-f3af-4173-8cf8-432f03776866?shareToken=5e87ffe8f910ffd3b165308032c48310

The Times did not refer to the abuser by any pronoun. They used his name, Natalie Wolf previously known as Ryan Haley at the time of the attack, and reported that (he) had been referred to as "she" during the court case, and that the victim had refused to do that and addressed him by name, as well as "he".

I thought that him referring to the jury as being "hypnotised" was wishful thinking, judging by that mugshot photo.

The abuser is said to have a personality disorder.

"Wolf, from Byker, Newcastle, has been held on remand in HMP Durham, a men’s prison, but was referred to with female pronouns during the proceedings."

I wonder if the court as well as the defence team used female pronouns? Presumably this trial took place after the change in guidance on pronouns.

At least he uses the local shop.
