Another GC woman being taken to court by the cops - Mandy Clare in Cheshire

oldwomanwhoruns · 28/11/2025 17:38

A quick summary - earlier in the year Mandy attended a public, Council sponsored Pride event in Cheshire, just as a quiet Observer. She was observed and recognised and mobbed. She was roughly ejected from the event by Security/cops (not sure which). Now the CPS are charging HER.

Her words:
I’m a serving Cheshire West borough councillor facing trial after being assaulted while quietly observing Winsford Pride 2025 – a supposedly “family-friendly” event – to check child safeguarding standards.

Confused children are ushered onto the Puberty Blocker pathway at Pride events and exposed to sexualised content. Councillors MUST be safe to attend and observe, free from abuse and lawfare!

She is facing a 2 Day Trial
* 16/17 December* at Chester Magistrates Court

The police have been very slow with disclosing pivotal pieces of evidence, such as her own body-work video footage and the custody interview audio and transcript - items that would normally be disclosed at a very early stage in the process.

Mandy needs to secure full disclosures and to engage a barrister to defend her in court.

If anyone feels like some gardening... I'm sure that Mandy would appreciate a few carrots

wtf are they charging her with?Confused

ParmaVioletTea · 28/11/2025 18:00

Whaaaaaa?

This is ridiculous? A councillor arrested at an event her own Council has presumably subsidised? It's madness!

Reform UK Councillor Charged After Pride Protest Arrest – Council Check
Reform's Amanda Clare charged with assault and criminal damage
There seems to have been a 'disturbance' and she was arrested during that - I'm not saying she was part of the disturbance, she says she was 'quietly observing', just that there was some kind of disturbance that the police were called to.

oldwomanwhoruns · 28/11/2025 18:26

In essence, she was recognised, mobbed, ejected. Obviously a slight kerfuffle. A body worn camera was knocked off, The charge is criminal damage to the camera I think. Plus something else, sorry I can't remember. (I was at her earlier hearing, where all they did was to take a plea (not guilty) and to set the trial date)

Hope this helps. I don't know what all the rules are about talking about a live case though.

I've just been looking online, & the actual charges appear to be 'assault and criminal damage' - which is bonkers. As if a tiny woman holding a mobile phone would really have been likely to have 'assaulted' a burly security guard. 🙁

On the BBC article it says
"A statement by Cheshire Police and the Crown Prosecution Service said: "We would like to remind everyone that criminal proceedings against Clare are live and that she has a right to a fair trial.
"It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice ongoing proceedings.""

Which is all very well, but there has to be basic information out there or no women could ever set up a defence fund, could we ????

The Press are interested only because Clare is a Reform councillor. She had friends with her at the time and of course they will be Defence witnesses.

Bumping this a Mandy was at the WRN Manchester event yesterday and spoke.
She looks to need some gardening.
I am not a fan of Reform but her intentions appear to have been good.

Her account yesterday is that she was asking police to come with her to look at the stalls, which were selling dildos and tshirts with sex and kink related slogans, including for children. Along the lines of "kinky little" something or other. She was protesting these products being at a family event. The police walked off. I think it was a senior police person but can't remember what rank sorry. It sounded as though she was being persistent in following them and trying to insist they came to see and discuss it with her.

Her account is that during this someone was hitting at her head with a huge dildo and she raised her arm to bat it away and protect herself, but that the video footage makes it look like she is hitting out. She claims she made contact with the dildo not the person.

That's more 3 "dildos" than I usually write on a Sunday morning.

Does anyone else know any more?

Scout2016 · 30/11/2025 10:44

I misremembered- it was "sexy little swine" which is no better. Here's a photo she's shared from the event.

The offence of common assault doesn't require the person to have even laid hands on someone.

oldwomanwhoruns · 01/12/2025 09:01

It's really unhelpful that the cops/CPS have issued that statement warning about talking/ sharing about the case. It's telling women to shut up, again 😠

Yes, I agree.
I don't believe they think that discussion and information sharing could have a detrimental outcome for Clare's case. They just don't want any light on their shitshow.

Seriestwo · 01/12/2025 12:32

I think I know who you mean. She spoke up at a council meeting about children a long time ago, I think?

Councillor biffed by a dildo. What wild times we live in.

Will look out for the garden.

I mean yes, the very fact it was there in the first place says most of what we need to know.

NamechangebumpforMandy · 04/12/2025 10:10

Just bumping this to draw attention again to Mandy’s crowdfunder. You can find a link to it on Anya Palmer’s Twitter feed (@anyabike). Or search for “legal defence fund for council” - she’s on CrowdJustice.

Also Mandy is being represented by the brilliant Sarah Vine KC!

I thought it was illegal to display sex toys etc to children?

I’d say the sexualised clothing, eg “Sexy little swine” T-shirt, is a red flag too, but I don’t suppose police care about that these days.

As mentioned Mandy's lawyer is Sarah Vine - Times Lawyer of the week.

Sarah Vine acted for Graham Linehan in his harassment case

You will get your money's worth from gardening with her. Her plants grow really well.

This is true. I am a retired A&E consultant & once had to call the police because a patient was very aggressive threatening & squaring up to me. He was very well known to them & they carted him off. He was as in court charged with common assault the next day pleaded guilty & was give 18 months inside for common assault. The magistrates also made a £100 costs order towards me& for the next 18 months I used to receive about £2/week out of his prison earnings direct into my bank account. I never kept count but I assume that he paid it off. I gave £100 to charity.
This was the only time in my career that I had a patient imprisoned for assaulting me & he never laid a finger on me but got pretty close right in my face nose to nose. The fact that he was an ex-squadie high on cocaine & anabolic steroids made it particularly scary.

Some of these Pride events seem to be completely inappropriate for children.

Why are the ‘queer’ community trying so hard to associate LGB with inappropriate behaviour towards children? Gay men worked really hard to remove that perception.

So what's the backstory? People dont usually 'recognise' individuals they've never seen before.

She’s a local councillor so will be well known and recognisable in the area, and may well have had interactions with the police as a normal part of that role. Of course, we also know that many police forces are not in favour of women sticking up for women’s rights and the safeguarding of children, so she may have been on their radar for these sorts of activities, however innocuous.
Local TRAs and MRAs will recognise her for the same reasons - we know they often collude with the police to target and harass women.

ETA I have no time for Reform and disagree with pretty much everything they say or do. However Mandy is right in calling out Pride on this.

GaIadriel · 05/12/2025 09:13

I'm reading she's being charged with assaulting a security guard. Although 'assault' nowadays can be as little as raising your voice at someone so who knows.

Mochudubh · 05/12/2025 09:31

It may be worth just mentioning that Sarah Vine KC is not the same person as Michael Gove's ex. (At least I don't think so)

I had to Google as I knew the name was familiar but couldn't think where from.

Because they are so confident they’ll be supported no matter what they do. And have come to believe the propaganda running throughout every public institution from banks, to hospitals, primary schools and charities that anything Rainbow LGBTQA+ must be treated with reverence and upheld by law as the most superior and important minority in our society.

Mandy has been persistent and vocal at Council meetings on the safeguarding issue, as Council money is involved. She made social media posts of her visits to the previous Pride events, with footage of really unsuitable Adult performers & stuff on sale in front of kids. So when she turned up this time she was targeted!
