Another GC woman being taken to court by the cops - Mandy Clare in Cheshire

oldwomanwhoruns · 28/11/2025 17:38

A quick summary - earlier in the year Mandy attended a public, Council sponsored Pride event in Cheshire, just as a quiet Observer. She was observed and recognised and mobbed. She was roughly ejected from the event by Security/cops (not sure which). Now the CPS are charging HER.

Her words:
I’m a serving Cheshire West borough councillor facing trial after being assaulted while quietly observing Winsford Pride 2025 – a supposedly “family-friendly” event – to check child safeguarding standards.

Confused children are ushered onto the Puberty Blocker pathway at Pride events and exposed to sexualised content. Councillors MUST be safe to attend and observe, free from abuse and lawfare!

She is facing a 2 Day Trial
* 16/17 December* at Chester Magistrates Court

The police have been very slow with disclosing pivotal pieces of evidence, such as her own body-work video footage and the custody interview audio and transcript - items that would normally be disclosed at a very early stage in the process.

Mandy needs to secure full disclosures and to engage a barrister to defend her in court.

If anyone feels like some gardening... I'm sure that Mandy would appreciate a few carrots

Do you know why?

Marylou62 · 10/12/2025 11:19

I donated just as the charges were dropped but I'm elated for her.

MelOfTheRoses · 10/12/2025 12:08

There will still be costs and a lot of work on the pre-trial stuff that presumably resulted in CPS dropping the case. 🤔

That's weird, why does my post above have the Telegraph link somehow 'access restricted?? I thought that newspaper links were permitted?

@oldwomanwhoruns - Perhaps it can tell that the article is behind a paywall?

Here's a gift link:

Thanks for the gift link. I dislike Reform but I agree with everything she says here:

"I have been subjected to a full six months of anguish and reputational harm by the CPS Crown Prosecution Service at the behest of the police, who in turn acted at the behest of activists at this event.

Some police officers, including at the most senior level, are now political activists in plain sight, with the power to use our judicial system as a weapon against those deemed to have challenged gender ideology in any way.

This unjust attempted persecution of myself as a local councillor has suppression of free speech in relation to child safeguarding at the heart of it. If councillors can be mobbed, screamed at, assaulted and then prosecuted by the same police force who have stood by and seemingly supported this type of behaviour, democratic oversight of these types of events dies.

Pride events must not become no-go zones for elected representatives who care about child safeguarding. Winning my case is paramount in protecting everyone who speaks up in future against child safeguarding failures."

In essence, she was recognised, mobbed, ejected. Obviously a slight kerfuffle. A body worn camera was knocked off, The charge is criminal damage to the camera I think. Plus something else, sorry I can't remember. (I was at her earlier hearing, where all they did was to take a plea (not guilty) and to set the trial date)

Hope this helps. I don't know what all the rules are about talking about a live case though.

Fucking pathetic.

The police need to get a grip.

I hope Sarah Vine hands them their arses.

borntobequiet · 11/12/2025 11:30

I despise Farage and anything to do with him, but there are reasons why Reform is polling so well and this is one of them.

Szygy · 23/12/2025 09:34

That’s a cracking article by Nick Wallis. What an absolutely horrifying ordeal for Mandy Clare.

junipery · 23/12/2025 09:40

There’s also an interview with Mandy on Julie Bindel’s podcast about Stephen Ireland and Surrey Pride. It’s called Pride and Predator.

moto748e · 23/12/2025 10:51

Yes, good piece by Nick, really put the flesh on the bones of the story. This must be the reality of so many councils up and down the country, full of blinkered fools who just go along with this nonsense.

That Nick Wallis article is grim and fantastic.

Mandy Clare should be women and equalities minister when Reform win the next general election. Which they will.

This government, this ideology, couldn't be handing it to them on a bigger fucking plate.

If you're reading this Mandy, bloody well done. And I love that you have emerged a stronger woman.

Seriestwo · 23/12/2025 20:37

I’d vote for her, and I am a proper leftie. The world is so mad I will vote for anyone with a shred of integrity regardless of their politics.

moto748e · 23/12/2025 20:42

I think a lot of people will have seen that story, and not got past 'Reform councillor'. They can pat themselves on the head, and safely ignore.

oldwomanwhoruns · 25/12/2025 20:53

Mandy has been on the Gragam Linehan YouTube for a really informative chat. Lots of background.

It may be worth just mentioning that Sarah Vine KC is not the same person as Michael Gove's ex. (At least I don't think so)

I had to Google as I knew the name was familiar but couldn't think where from.

Yes, she was married to Michael Gove…according to Wikipedia anyway (and photographs would also indicate she’s one and the same) x

moto748e · 25/12/2025 21:26

I certainly thought they were two different people. Didn't Michael Gove's wife write a column for the Daily Mail? Would a KC do that?

No. Sarah Vine the journalist was married to Gove.

Sarah Vine KC was not.

They look nothing alike.

Sarah vine and michael gove

The 'other' Sarah Vine

For the avoidance of doubt, 'she is not married to Michael Gove'.

Yes she still does.

She wrote an interesting and personal article recently about losing hair from young age and how this is a problem for women that isn't talked about. https://archive.ph/onscH

ETA: This is the Journalist formerly married to Gove, definitely not the KC.
