Man wins World's Strongest Woman 2025 competition

Autumnhasarrived2025 · 25/11/2025 06:37

It appears a man (Jammie Booker) has won the 2025 World's Strongest Woman competition in Arlington, Texas. Beating Andrea Thompson, who is a superb British Strongwoman, by 1 point to take the overall win.

If you don't know anything about the sport, there are reguarly accusations of strongwomen being men, as it is a normal part of the sport for both men and women to be on gear which does mean quite a lot of the women do end up with some masculinsation of their bodies and deeper voices.

However, it appears this time the accusations are correct. There is a video of Andrea angrily leaving the podium. There is a thread on the Strongman HQ Reddit(!) which links to a video of Jammie talking about being a "trans girl" complete the usual anime drawings. Same profile photo and voice, so appears to be him. The Reddit thread has not been taken down and comments, apart from pronoun policing, is largely against men competing in Strongwoman competitions.

So well done to Andrea Thompson on her first place win.

This is interesting. The tweet reads

"Jammie Booker won the 2025 Worlds Strongest Woman Contest. Booker is a man pretending to be a women. For reference, April Hutchinson was suspended from Team Canada because April called Booker a Biological Male. That comment was determined to be hate speech."

Well, I’m glad this one has had a fairly swift resolution compared to the usual shitshows.

I hope someone high up at the organisation has popped round to collect the winner’s trophy (that he had ostentatiously foregrounded in his victory video) in order to get it to Andrea ASAP.

Cheating fucker.

"it is a normal part of the sport for both men and women to be on gear"
If "gear" means performance enhancing drugs (and I can't think what else it could mean), then it's already an unfair competition even without men competing in the women's category.

Quickest result ever 😁

I love strongman/woman and pleased to see justice is done

Well, out of all the sports out there, strongman/woman is definitely the one where everyone (competitors and fans) absolutely know the importance of testosterone in strength training.😁

This is a good swift turn around. Maybe though, the comp may have to change the regulations to include a verified sex test.

Helleofabore · 25/11/2025 18:41

Is this an example of a male person ignoring the regulations and entering anyway?

it seems that there are a group of people supporting him to have done this. Including other female competitors if the video he did was accurate.

The strength sports tend to have ‘natural’ and ‘enhanced’ categories and/or ‘tested’ and ‘untested’ (meaning PEDS tested) federations, so they are fair within the context of the sport.

what is interesting though, is that even in sports where anabolic steroid use in female categories is acknowledged/permitted the best of the ‘juiced’ women don’t achieve anywhere near the records of their male counterparts (which confirms what we observe in transmen, ie that taking T doesnt make them competitive in the male category£

So a female competitor has already pointed out that he's a man? But the organisation is saying they didn't realise until after the competition he just "won"?

Hmm... 🤔

AnnaMagnani · 25/11/2025 19:24

World's Strongest Man is essential Christmas viewing in the Magnani house. In recent years they have included footage of World's Strongest Woman as well.

Will be fascinated to see how they manage the coverage this year.

Well, bugger me, even Eddie Hall has done a video on it and he has 3.4 million subs. I'm not subscribed to him but it appeared in my feed, clicked on it and my post is the opening screenshot.

Maybe his wife is a Mumsnetter, if so, hello Alex! 😁

I don't think that's true of World's Strongest Man/Woman competitions

Needless to say, the transes on Reddit are super happy about this 😆

So good to see clear, rational statements like this:
Any athlete is welcome. But it is our responsibility to ensure fairness and ensure athletes are assigned to men or women’s categories based on whether they are recorded as male or female at birth'.

lcakethereforeIam · 25/11/2025 19:52

Well, that was a ride. It shouldn't have happened but as it did this is a good outcome. Prosecuting the cheat for fraud would be good.

I'm worried, if this was a final, there may be women who could have been at that final, who may even have won it, who weren't because of this fraud.

Thank you for the link. That thread may be short but includes some brilliant lines. "Transphobia is just misogyny, yet again." 😂

Sad news that one poster, who I assume by their wording was going to enter a women's strength competition but now doesn't think they will compete for a while in strength. Sad times.

But my favourite is screenshotted and attached just in case they delete it. Another self-own.

Thanks for sharing, I like it, it's a strong and clear statement, TRANADA take note, no Men in Women's sport.

It’s true of Strongman/Strongwomen events generally but I don’t know much about the individual federations or whether both pathways are available in a single federation or if they are always kept separate. It’s also possible that different federations have a difference banned substances list?

There seems to be about a 20% performance gap between natural and enhanced competitors in both male and female categories.

Took up weightlifting in June of this year, apparently. That's why nobody had heard of him.
Five months from starting a sport to winning a major championship. That alone should have rung alarm bells.

AnnaMagnani · 25/11/2025 20:17

Eddie Hall's video is just amazing. Love the way he just gets it instantly, no arguments just an immediate 'It's not fair on the women'. And the immediate decision from Strong Man - showing us what a properly inclusive organization looks like.

Also sadly not surprised to hear from him that the TIM has an Only Fans where there is definite visual proof of him being a man.

I think that poster was the OP, whose username is ftmfitness, may be a female who was planning to compete in the male category.
