So why wouldn't they just go the whole hog and have mixed prisons, and risk assess everyone? What makes these guys so special?

This is a very depressing story, one which so many have predicted. What did the over educated idiots who oversaw it expect? I mean really, what did they actually expect was going to happen? That sex offenders in frocks would magically go all kittens and soft fucking furnish?

I really hope this gains traction in the wider world, although I expect thd BBC to run a mile and pretend it never happened.

You can still be traumatised by the presence of a violent male in another room or even another building .

Meanwhile, here in the UK, there are still 5 biological males in a women’s prison in Banstead, according to Rebecca Paul who raised it at PMQs last week.

And if I were a woman in that prison I would be traumatised by the fact that all the laws of the land were forcing such an outrage on me.

You could make a simple yes/no flow chart, along the lines of:

Do you think there is any risk to women in including placing males who claim a female gender identity in women's prisons?

• if no - you're an idiot with no imagination. Please educate yourself and then go back to Square 1
• if yes -

Do you think those women matter?

• if no - you're a complete misogynist
• if yes -

Do the rights of the men override the rights of the women?

• if no - why did you do this? Please go back to Square 1
• if yes - you're a complete misogynist

There was a group of women prisoners who wanted to challenge this being applied to women's prisons before the courts. They asked the Elizabeth Fry society to help them.

They were basically told they were bigots, please be quiet.

Hideous. I can believe that. All the legacy women's orgs in Canada seem to be captured.
