Bloody cloud flare 🙄 right, catching up…

Thank you - I guess sexual fetish would work too.

I was thinking it referred to a particular artist or film or something

TBF fetish is probably more accurate, given the photo 😩

The impression I'm getting from all of this is that a lot of not very bright, not very honest, and not very pleasant people have been wielding an undue amount of clout in a rather small pond.

They've been the big fish for a long time and it's made them careless.

Big dish getting fat on tax payer handouts.

A BIGLY SCREEN that was £100k at a poor underfunded Arts organisation.

I didn’t come up the Lagan in a bubble.

Maybe a Dept for Economies or Belfast City Council auditor gets a whiff of the smell and goes to have a look.

The shopping has been delivered so I have frozen chips again.

So, today I have gone for a deconstructed chip buttie.

Following previous comments I've altered the bread to chip ratio, and thrown the chips into an unorganised pile (I so want to straighten them up). I've added a small bowl of Magi Liquid Seasoning to dip spare chips into, and 'll be drinking chocolate milkshake whilst waiting for Cloudfare to sort itself out!

Practically health food. Are you in some sort of wellness retreat?

I was trying to work out where Sinn Fein came into this :-))

I'm late to the Brownies discussion but want to add my bit. I went for a while, can't remember how long, and it was seriously boring. I got a housekeeping badge I didn't realise I was taking, for washing and drying a sharp knife correctly. We also did a lot of running about, which was quite good. Vague recollection suggests I was a pixie.

What did it for me was an exercise we were given to 'make something out of nothing'. Maybe I missed something in the instructions, which isn't unlikely given how dreamy I was, but even at the age of eight I knew that you can't 'make something out of nothing' so I went home and thought about it, realised it was an impossible task and went along empty handed the following week. All the other girls had brought egg boxes with bits of twig, leaves and feathers in the egg spaces, which just confused me even more because they hadn't 'made something out of nothing' at all, they'd just picked up random bits of organic matter and put them in the egg boxes. Nonetheless, they were all praised for their efforts. I stopped going soon after and sold my uniform to a girl at school.

That experience is kind of the story of my life; so much in life, especially the last ten years, just doesn't make sense.

This was so beautiful I laughed for an age.

I know this is gauche but can I pretty please be your friend ❤️

You might like to try adding a sprig of sage to milkless tea. I was given some abroad, its very nice.

Sounds like TERFY brew - how delightful

Interesting that the judge has intervened several times to extract answers from MD.

Given everything else that's come out of this case, there could be more surprises to come!

But Sinn Fein influencing art that has to be censored on Twitter is a curve ball

Does anyone know whay 'influenced by SF' means in the contexts of the AGP male photo?

Edited

I thought SF was 'sexual fetish'? Sorry if someone's already answered, I'm playing catch up after Cloudflare's bollocking bollocks.

‘J: I think a lot of orgs would say the same. Not just yours’

What does Judge mean by that, I wonder? All orgs which end up in an ET ‘cos they are now having to defend their actions against an employee?

The Judge has been very judicious today.

Michelle was saying that on top of her three jobs, and today she’s an IT person too, she now has to actually you know account for her actions and run her org. It was a whinge on about the work.

And the Judge very kindly made a point saying - well that’s the same for all organisations. Ie it’s the law so you have to get on with it.

A nudge to say - everyone has to do SARs if it’s their job.

I feel sorry for the FOI person who has to deal with the BIGLY SCREEN grant application.

Try tracking down a Spud Murphy in Newry 😂 (soz, local culchie humour)

Irish surnames tend to cluster in certain areas of the country owing to a combination of the ancient Irish clan system and a lack of inter-country movement until quite well into the 20thC.

I realised I forgot another reason that Irish surnames tend to cluster in geographical locations: Anglicisation of Irish surnames by the British government between the 1600s and 1800s. When the Irish language was outlawed and Irish people were required to register their names in English for official purposes, the Registrars, many being English speakers, were quite broad with their translations of native surnames into an English equivalent, So you could have a couple of surnames that are different in Irish but were grouped together and translated into one English surname because they sounded similar to an existing English surname or were incorrectly understood/translated by the Registrar.

https://www.libraryireland.com/names/anglicisation-irish-surnames.php
https://www.irishtimes.com/culture/heritage/irish-roots-how-our-surnames-were-englished-1.2417178

Also, the Great Famine had a a huge effect on surnames being Anglicised

This Anglicisation of family names also served to stop the use of patronymic surnames in Ireland.

From NW

NC why no material steps taken Aug, Sep, Oct and half way through Nov
KP no
NC so it wasn’t the earliest possible moment
KP can’t comment

NC C complained in her G about the disc investigation into her
KP investigation (iv)
NC the iv began on 5 July - you don’t say this in your statement do you
KP no

NC in your WS you give the reasons for the iv - negative impact on organisation/rep and commercial success
KP yes
NC so you were looking at why the investigation was set up
KP yes

KP yes
NC so you would need to know what evidence there was for starting an investigation - “did they have enough to go on, was it on a reasonable basis”
KP yes

NC quite important you had the evidence so you can have known why they did it
KP my iv was to find out whether there had been any discrimination - I wanted to know the “rationale” for the iv “not the specifics”

NC it’s what they knew at the time they started the iv - not what came after which is relevant
KP yes
[NC takes her to her grievance iv doc]
NC reads “During the investigation hearing with MD on 15th March 2024, she stated that BFF took the

decision to investigate SOG as, 'We wanted to fact find and look into this, from a neutral point as those
organisations had been named. In some point in our history, we have worked with every single one of
those organisations she named. 'Evidence of which can be seen in appendix K. MD further explained

that she had met with SOG and explained her rationale for needing to investigate this, and that before
she had an opportunity to investigate this SOG had gone off sick.”
NC so MD says iv was prompted by SM’s criticisms of the women’s sector in her LWS speech

KP yes she does also say “Furthermore, when discussing the rationale for making the decision to investigate SOG, MD stated
'Staff members have complained, community voluntary complaints, informal and formal complaints

Was KP supporting the investigation into SM's alleged behaviour or conducting SM's grievance? They're different things surely?

mumsnet bloody froze on me and that's me just in. hello ladies. MD is a right unlikeable woman isn't she?

In other news I have an interview with a well known woman's rights org later (that I obviously will not name so as not to out me) so wish me luck

Just catching after Cloudflare stopped access... hope you interview goes brilliantly.

Talk of tea has been triggering, As a schoolgirl, I was once tasked with making a pot of tea for the staff room. Afterwards, the headteacher tracked me down. Apparently, I had forgotten to put tea in the pot.

ProfessorMyrtleLion · 18/11/2025 15:25

I think SOG may mean Sara's Original Grievance.

Happy to be corrected.

Largesso · 18/11/2025 15:26

But is it not Ibsen’s À Doll’s House which gave rise to the idea of gaslighting in the main (and is probably meaning Losey’s adaptation of A Doll’s House with Jane Fonda) The point is that it’s not credible for a long term director of a cultural organisation not to understand these terms even if you can’t trace the source and just further undermines her credibility.
