McKeown is a very common name in that whole are of South Co Down, Louth, Armagh etc - the area known historically as Oriel. It means John's son.
Michael is a very common name all over Ireland, so you're bound to get oodles and oodles of Michael McKeown's in the area. I think I went to primary school with one or two!
Hence the importance of nicknames...
