An event invitation I got. What does this wording even mean?

There’s a networking event for female leaders next week. One of the questions was ‘can men attend?’ This is what the response is. HUH?

Hear Here is forming, and we are learning as we go. For this event, we are creating a space specifically for female, non-binary, agender, and gender non-conforming people. In future, we may look to extend this to allies and all.

That invitation means I’d be washing my hair that night.

Female - comma - non-binary etc….. in other words everyone except bog standard men who ‘identify’ as men.

Good spot on the comma

That's how I read it too. Very inclusively exclusive.

They shouldn't have a comma after the word 'female'. Then it would say it's just women but includes ones who claim to be NB etc.

As it stands it seems to say women plus these others who obviously could be blokes.

Doesn’t exactly spell it out but I would actually interpret as no biological males, and no trans men?! If that is what they actually mean they’re discriminating against trans men who are actually women. Also doesn’t specifically say non binary and gender non conforming FEMALES so perhaps if a man had long hair or a pink shirt on they might let him in?
I think a very clumsily worded “biological females only” when they are scared to actually say that
