Green Women's Declaration stall cancelled by Green Party Conference + webinar with Helen Joyce 7 Oct 7pm

I realise the GP Conference has been and gone, but thought this treatment of GWD should be publicised.

We submitted our conference stall booking on 6th June, and it was accepted on 28th August. We were thrilled and shared this exciting news with you, our supporters, and also on social media.

Following our announcement, a coordinated campaign emerged from trans rights activists within the party to challenge our presence. This included a petition and widespread dissemination of defamatory claims misrepresenting our aims, values and past behaviours.

On Wednesday afternoon – less than 48 hours before the conference – we were informed that our stall had been cancelled.

(May be on other threads discussing Green Party madness)

Also, later today (7 October at 7pm) a webinar:

NB - I am not a Green Party member but admire them and any other group of women who persevere even in the most hostile of environments.

GWD Stall BANNED from Conference in Bournemouth — Green Women's Declaration

How the Green Party cancelled our confirmed conference booking after a coordinated activist campaign. We're seeking legal advice—and we'll still be there.

The simple fact is, they aren't going to get the votes they need if they don't accept other people's opinions and neither will the Lib Dems. They might as well join forces with them and Your Party and have done with it.

IMHO Polanski & Mothin Ali won't be doing the GPEW any favours at all.

Ali is only interested in Gaza and Polanski - well, goodness knows, but it certainly isn't women's rights. I left the GPEW recently, before those two clowns were elected but, if I hadn't, I'd be doing so now.

What is GPEW?

Is it the same as GPWD?

No, sorry. GPEW is the Green Party of England and Wales. It's a different legal entity from the Green Party of Scotland (who are even more insane).

There are so many groups representing different interests within the GP I got very confused as to who was who a lot of the time.

Well whichever Greens they are they seem a bit insane.

So part of me wonders why some women persist.

So my starting this thread was more to say well done to these women how are persisting.

In fact its been a while since the Women's Declaration campaign started, so even more impressed that they are still trying with the Green Party.

In fact not sure if the equivilent groups still exist in other Parties.

There’s a long dedicated thread covering all the GP shenanigans since May. https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5328986-greens-internal-drama-warms-up?utm_campaign=thread&utm_medium=app_share

I have said this in other threads but I am baffled that the Green party are so preoccupied with this most capitalist and individualist issue.
To put it semi flippantly there is no way that trans health care is carbon neutral and zero waste.
More fundamentally there is something about encouraging people to override nature and the social good based on their preferences that does not sit right with my understanding of either environmentalism or socialism.

I did hear a report about their conference and it made it sound all very up beat. More new members that Reform I think they said.

But it must be quite a niche following as once Polanski starts pontificating there doesn't seem to be anything about how to tackle the real mess we are in.

I always wonder are Greens all relatively well off people who can dabble at alternatives. or like those Radio 4 programmes about cooking from scratch as though everyone has hours to prepare meals.

But maybe there are enough I'm doing okay people in the UK.

Can you imagine a fight off at the next election between Reform and the Greens.

Have Fact Check my post and was too interested into an idea than the reality. Sorry.

Greens have over taken Lib Dems and are now close to all time low membership of Conservatives.

Labour 309,000
Reform 250,000
Conser 123,000
Greens 88,000

Although if membership equals votes then Your Party is way ahead with 800,000.

They are all still active. Labour Women's Declaration is doing very well indeed with one supporter now Home Secretary.

Very evident at the recent Labour Conference
https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5416076-5416076-sex-and-gender-at-the-labour-party-conference

Conservatives For Women organised the packed out women's panel which was just disrupted by the TA Boff, who was then humiliated by Marion.

Lib Dems Voice for women triggered a massive row by trying to get a pro-women motion passed.

Women and Gays are fighting back in all the parties.

Thanks. I did try and find an old thread which was started to list all those who were organising round the Declaration, as some now on FWR may not be aware of them.

Suppose I could start another, just as a point of information.

That would be useful to have a cross party thread about the various Declaration groups.

I have started a thread, but not sure I explained or maybe suggested it could be used as you suggest.
