... & Magpie regularly drains the hot chocolate bowser.

If you understand that, or you're just cool with it, come on in & bagsie a chair by the fire.

How different things are today, and it’s not all good, @Britinme

You know I don't complain, but really, if someone declines to eat her dinner because she doesn't like mince, and doesn't eat her breakfast because she doesn't like catfood, and is hungry because all she ate in 24 hours was the bit of chicken she was given for supper, and the bit of chicken her brother was given for supper, how is that MY fault?

How did things pan out, Dean?

Did you hold the line or go full on cordon bleu?

Swashbuckled · 03/10/2025 21:00

I followed the ET today. It was kind of nice to be able to be in that space again. Can’t pull it together to post anywhere other than here yet, but almost did on several occasions.

Liked seeing some of you out in the wild too… 💙

I should’ve been on that thread instead of the one I was on. However it got me a great new name so there’s that 🤣

Swashbuckled · 03/10/2025 21:03

What’s the new name? Or are you keeping that back for anonymity purposes…. 😎

Taztoy · 03/10/2025 21:05

I can’t name change on here on this thread but I’ll give you all a big clue on the next thread how’s that?

Because you are her slave.

Swashbuckled · 03/10/2025 21:08

That’s great 🙂. I like big clues. It’s very confusing when people arrive at the new thread with a different name. Can take a while to work out if they’re new or not. Marie is good at dealing with that side of things but big clues do help.

Bannedontherun · 03/10/2025 21:08

I have had to watch the ET thread later on at night as at my daughters with grand hoglette’s so the usual mayhem.

I think it went well, no clue why Leonards has offered any kind of defence.

DeanElderberry · 03/10/2025 21:12

They had finely chopped beef for dinner, heated slightly in warm water and accompanied by a small quantity of mousse-style cat food. Supper was the posh cooked chicken - pieces rather than reconstituted slices.

She condescended to gobble it all up, and didn't even charge over to steal his supper until he'd almost finished it.

yes yes, rod for my own back, I know

FuzzyPuffling · 03/10/2025 21:12

I'm so tired I'd have difficulty following an episode of Balamory, let alone a tribunal. 😞

Swashbuckled · 03/10/2025 21:14

I have been making my own dog food for over a year now. It’s a resounding success in that he eats it. I make a big batch and bag it into portions. I ran out mid-week and can’t face making new, so have been giving him rice mixed with fish or meat.

I can’t face it because I’m making the next batch with a brace of (free) pheasants that are in my big freezer. I had a load given to me last pheasant season. I’ve used them for dog food before but it’s a messy job as they’re still in feather. It’s on the list for the weekend. I’m on a massive economy drive for the next few months and trying to do a no-spend thing, so they will be in the slow cooker for him soon enough.

I was asked was I the arbiter.

Ohhhhhh. I’ve never tried that. But when we get an new kitchen we are having a chest freezer in the futility room.

I do know how to pluck and git a chicken so I suppose I could head into the woods with the air rifle.

Taztoy · 03/10/2025 21:17

I would edit the git to gut but it made me laugh.

Swashbuckled · 03/10/2025 21:19

Oh, poor you Fuzzy. Is that because of the jab?

What’s the story in balamory

god that programme used to haunt me. DD’s favourite. We had a cd player in the car with it.

Swashbuckled · 03/10/2025 21:21

Got it, Taz. Mum’s the word…

Swashbuckled · 03/10/2025 21:24

Well, I’m glad she’s eaten now, Dean. Hopefully she’s content and settled rather than miaowing for more food 🙂. Although one could see why she might want more from that lovely menu…

OMG BooK Nook looks a bit complicated!! Who else did this one? 😮

I may try this - one of our dogs is seriously unimpressed by royal canin diet food, but might respond to a few home made meals. The other is allergic to chicken which limits his diet considerable but we have a fab butcher nearby so am sure `i could get some half decent meat to mix with veggies. They much prefer human food to kibble…

DeanElderberry · 03/10/2025 21:31

Dogs are so much less fussy. Dear Teddy used to nearly faint with ecstasy if I gave him a freshly cooked cheese omelet cooled with a little milk (he had to go low-carb in his last year or so to keep diabetes at bay).

Swashbuckled · 03/10/2025 21:31

I have never done one. Nor will I ever. But Myrtle has done a lot so may have done this? (Although I don’t know how many different book nooks there actually are….🤔)
