This is a feminist issue. Mandelson has admitted that he chose to believe Epstein, who had at that point been convicted of sex trafficking children, over Epstein’s victims. Surely this choice makes him an unacceptable person to represent the UK? Why on Earth does Starmer think it’s ok to keep Mandelson in his position? I stand with the victims and it is not good enough for Mandelson to sheepishly apologise with the benefit of hindsight.

What on earth makes you think for a minute that ‘Petey’ ‘believed’ Epstein to be innocent of the accusations made against him? Petey’s own protestations? Please.

Mandelson is not a complete moron. He knew perfectly well what Epstein was.

It’s depravity, not idiocy.

And yes clearly he should go - as should every politician promoted by the Labour Together/McSweeny/Mandelson movement. Which is basically every ‘politician’ - including the paper ‘Prime Minister’- sitting on the overflowing sewer masquerading as a Parliamentary Front Bench.

Losing a peerage is remarkably difficult. IIRC, the only legislation on the books that removes a peerage is specific to the First World War. It would require an Act of Parliament but Labour have been bleating about reform of the HoL, beginning that process by de-Baronning Mandleson would sweeten the pill for the Opposition &, if carefully drafted, could spare us a few other gawdelpuses.

Mandelson was Sec. of State for Northern Ireland 1999-2001, and credit where credit is due, he brought together Unionists and Nationalists, Loyalists and Republicans on one subject - they all disliked him!

Not true. Unionists were cock a hoop when Mo Mowlem was removed. They got one of their own , someone they could relate to.

Mowlem had upset some people by talking to the UVF / UDA. No doubt she annoyed even more ppl by asking Corbyn to speak to the IRA.

And who came up smelling of roses ....until he didn't

A valid point.

She's a middle-aged white woman called Karen. That obviously makes her the worst possible kind of human being.
