NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board and Dr Beth Upton - thread #52

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 February 2025 and was expected to last 2 weeks. However, after 2 weeks it was not complete and it adjourned part-heard. It resumed on 16 July and the last day of evidence was 29 July 2025. It resumed again over 1 to 2 September for closing submissions.

The hearing commenced with Sandie Peggie giving evidence. Dr Beth Upton gave evidence from Thursday 6 February to Wednesday 12 February 2025. Sandie Peggie returned to give more evidence on 29 July 2025.

Access to view the second part of the hearing remotely was obtainable by sending an email request to [email protected] by 5pm on Wednesday 9 July. Detailed instructions were provided here:

Yes, he said he'd done it in his previous placement, and they just went ok then. So he told them that's what he'd be doing rather than the other way round. But they didn't bat an eyelid at that.

To be pendantic, sorry, that came after he was using them, according to submission. It was his decision and his alone and later others acquiesced. Horse (or zebra) / door/ bolted

Bannedontherun · 03/09/2025 21:00

I think i might agree to travel to Fife for a guard of honour outside the hospital.

I would like to imagine that there would be a bagpipe brigade.

Maybe just to hand in her resignation….

True. But it was definitely his choice.

Isn't this the same bloke who made a complaint that got Graham lineham arrested the other day with 5 armed police at heathrow? That's turning out well...

It's all rather glorious in an unhinged way. The press headlines, unanimity from a horrified public, once TWAW politicians & police leaders having to admit it's all wrong.
Meanwhile the batshit transactivists continue in all their narcissistic madness accusing, complaining and plotting. Project #alieanateeveryone 😂

His previous experience appears to be setting the police on people. This costs nothing other than his time.

He seems quite annoyed that a judicial review will cost real world money.

Having to actually put his money where his mouth is may help him to bring his thoughts into clearer focus.

An interesting glimpse of the tribunal from the courtroom itself from Rebecca McCurdy of The Herald who has been there throughout the hearings.

We are not being too kind at all. You played an absolute blinder and, when Netflix produces the mini series, The Fifer will be delivering an aside to camera about every 30 seconds.

I was imagining it being like the narrator role in Blood Brothers, but in jogging bottoms and a bottle of buckfast and a block of tablet in hand sat in a comfy chair watching it unfold on his laptop.

Well I think that calls for some more Beetle magic imagery....How do you do it???

MyrtleLion · 03/09/2025 21:56

From page 124 of the final submission.

Fife made an understandable mistake because they and many others had been deliberately misled by Stonewall.

But at 10.30 on 16 April 2025, this all should have stopped because of the Supreme Court decision.

Honestly, this submission is a work of poetry.

Should be done by midnight.

KS misrepresented LA's evidence whilst under oath

Or was she just telling her truth?(16)

(16) So far as can be discerned; in truth it is difficult to pin down exactly what it holds; it may indeed hold — or have its intellectual roots in a contention — that the very concept of truth is suspect.

Is LA the HCA who gave evidence to the internal investigation effectively exonerating Sandie relating to one of the patient care claims from Upton?
I thought her initials were RA? Not naming her as she didn’t want to be involved but I saved a screenshot of reference to her from the Herald reports.

nauticant · 03/09/2025 22:06

I understood the initials to be RA too.

My AI is more used to depicting beetles rather than men, but got there in the end.

"Ms Peggie's solicitor, Margaret Gribbon, said new action was raised on August 6 against Fife Health Board (FHB), Dr Kate Searle, Dr Maggie Currer and Esther Davidson. The latest claim is brought under the Equality Act 2010 and alleges harassment and victimisation linked to Peggie’s gender-critical beliefs."

This may result in another drawn out court case but there just will be no change until and unless senior figures in organisations are personally held responsible for bullying ordinary people who decry transgender craziness.

Again, how do you do it? Everyone's a critic but to add my views on finessing, I see Fifer as much older. And his reverie about his old school mate (wee Suzie?) at some point in the proceedings points to more befuddled/pissed. The original Fifer may have own views on his depiction! I do though remain completely amazed at your prowess in producing these images. And the upside down text.

@SlackJawedDisbeliefXY Perhaps unwise in view of what happened to Mr Lineham.

I have no idea how a typical Fifer presents but I imagine a geezer of about 40 years, dressed in a polo shirt and jeans, sat in the 'comfy chair' with a tinny and 20 B&H in front of him.

Good spot - first not fist.

JanesLittleGirl · 03/09/2025 22:52

And another thing. "Ye ken ken" makes no sense if you are English but makes perfect sense if you are English and listening to a Fifer

Process is punishment.

So the Neverending Court Case is the way to go. It's purgatory.

Poor Big Sond has retired so another judge is now rehearing the case in 2040 after JR has changed the goal posts for the 69th time. Some of the witnesses have died so their evidence can not be considered again because they can't be cross examined again.

Shortshriftandlethal · 02/09/2025 14:28

The judge seems, at least,. to have respect for NC's legal knowledge.....it is certainly far greter than his; and most certainly far in excess of that of JR.

I don't think he is unaware of the things he is asking.

The point of the questions is to establish the details of NC's submissions. They have to be made explicit so the tribunal can decide if they agree with them or not, and they will be addressed in the decision.

If he didn't find out her exact reasoning, then she could say the panel made assumptions, and that she was misunderstood, and appeal on that basis.

So he probably knows very well the answers she will give, and why, but it has to actually be said, and recorded.
