It's an old word, still literally means 'grandmother' in South Slavic. In Russian or Polish it's become derogatory but derivatives like babushka are still used for grandmother or old woman.

Its funny that in watching him whanging on about his special gender, the word that most readily springs to mind is about as strongly gendered as its possible to get.

It's so sad that this beautiful moment, being called "Daddy" for the first time - albeit in worrying circumstances - has been marred for him by a completely invented problem.

I spotted this on X soon after it was published and commented on it, along with quite a lot of other people. Interestingly the commenters weren't nasty or aggressive, but they were, as far as I could see, totally unimpressed and made that very clear. Within 2 days the Metro had closed comments and hidden or delated the ones that had been made. When will they learn people have simply had enough of unmitigated narcissism?

And the male patterned baldness.
