All the eyerolls 🙄 they/them 'not Daddy!'

What nurses have to put up with. His poor wife (although that word's not used*), his poor kids

I'm a non-binary parent but have had to accept being called 'Daddy' | Metro News https://share.google/CdGfmxVnizOeyxBbe

Admittedly, when we arrived at the delivery suite on Tuesday night I did tell the lead midwife that my pronouns are they/them

Of course he did.

The whole article is worth a read, simultaneously hilarious, jawdropping and troubling. I thought he could put it on stage at the next Fringe, it'd bring the house down. It's hard to believe it wasn't ghost written by Glinner as a pisstake.

*hopefully they're not married °so leaving this self obsessed bloke will be easier.

°how would that go anyway? 'I now pronoun you wife and....erm!'

I'm a non-binary parent but have had to accept being called 'Daddy'

I wish that society could be more inclusive towards trans and non-binary folks especially as it pertains to parenthood.

Re Baba -. what about Baba Yaga? I think the Baba bit is something like' old woman' or 'hag' or maybe even 'grandmother'. @SionnachRuadh may know.

It's an old word, still literally means 'grandmother' in South Slavic. In Russian or Polish it's become derogatory but derivatives like babushka are still used for grandmother or old woman.

I was genuinely surprised by the reddit thread.

It's a "Marxist" subreddit, where they discuss identity politics and capitalism....

It isn't a captured community. Wonder what the r/Transgender group has to say!!

What a Dick!

Its funny that in watching him whanging on about his special gender, the word that most readily springs to mind is about as strongly gendered as its possible to get.

I can think of a few options here!

Winter2020 · 26/08/2025 15:05

I hope this chap remembers he doesn’t follow gender stereotypes when it comes to caring for their twins and doing their housework.

Well he’s also a twat - so I think he’s got all gendered insults covered 😂😂

Momstermash94 · 26/08/2025 15:09

Reminds me of when I was given information from the hospital while I was pregnant and in it they included the words "birthing parent and non birthing parent" and "chest feeding" . He'd have loved it

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 26/08/2025 15:10

"Yep, vegan 😂"

Pretty sure the midwives will have known that at least.

MagpiePi · 26/08/2025 15:14

Also lives in Brighton.

Not that I have an issue with vegans, but it's a tad predictable for this chap.

The facial hair's a bit masculine-gendered.

Try harder, Tom.

How on earth are the poor medical team supposed to know what alternative to 'Daddy' to call him if he can't even figure it out himself...?

Maybe a combination of Mummy and Daddy = Dummy. Which suits him quite nicely.

BeanQuisine · 26/08/2025 15:21

Pathetic and infantile attention seeking. It's amazing how lacking in self-awareness these clowns really are.

Lins77 · 26/08/2025 15:27

‘Daddy’s right here for you, okay?,’ said the neonatal medic to my newborn identical twins as they wheeled them to the special care unit.
This was the first time someone had referred to me by this name, but as well as finding it sweet and overwhelming in a good way, I also found it quite jarring.

It's so sad that this beautiful moment, being called "Daddy" for the first time - albeit in worrying circumstances - has been marred for him by a completely invented problem.

JanesLittleGirl · 26/08/2025 15:27

The poor mother: 3 babies to look after.

murasaki · 26/08/2025 15:34

It takes a world beating amount of solipsism to prioritise your pronouns over the well being of your partner and your tiny babies.

He is not fit to be a parent.

NotAtMyAge · 26/08/2025 15:40

I spotted this on X soon after it was published and commented on it, along with quite a lot of other people. Interestingly the commenters weren't nasty or aggressive, but they were, as far as I could see, totally unimpressed and made that very clear. Within 2 days the Metro had closed comments and hidden or delated the ones that had been made. When will they learn people have simply had enough of unmitigated narcissism?

And the male patterned baldness.

Really did no-one at the Metro or outside Mx Pashby's little bubble think to say to him, 'Tom, do you really want to submit this for publication? You're going to come across as a massive, narcissistic bell-end'.

Nah - they probably thought "how exciting, a non-binary parent, how marvellous to showcase this marginalised voice!". 🙄

Babyboomtastic · 26/08/2025 15:59

😂

https://www.thepinknews.com/2022/11/24/cop27-egypt-lgbtq/

Highlights include:

"I’m non-binary and agender and I am visibly queer in most situations"

"During the meal, I was misgendered a number of times, which was good because it meant I was passing as cis, but still made me uncomfortable because it was proof that I wasn’t living authentically.

As soon as I was halfway through the summit, I was already fantasising about re-queering myself. I have booked an appointment to get my ears re-pierced and I will be dying my hair and getting my nails painted. On my first day back in Brighton I felt massive relief when I could put on my hot pink dungarees and go out and have no one bat an eyelid because my queer self is accepted as part of normal life here."

😂😂😂😂

'still passing as cis'
You're a bald bloke mate!!

Going to COP27 as a queer person in anti-LGBTQ+ Egypt isn't easy

Queer journalist Tom Pashby covered the COP27 climate summit from Egypt, where LGBTQ+ people are persecuted, criminalised and abused.

I enjoyed reading this story so much. It is wild how self centred this man is. Most expectant fathers are worried childbirth will be a bloodbath and the mother/baby might suffer or die, worst case scenario stuff, while they stand there like a helpless spare part.

But not this delight! He’s the main character in this scenario. His identity is his first thought.
I imagine this story following him around for years and years as documented evidence of what a massive self-centred knob he is.

Absolutely agree with this. The levels of self-absorption are staggering.

Middle class first-world (sorry if this term is not correct) narcissism. Silly little man lives in bubble of wokeness. Makes me want to vomit. Pity those poor babies.

Oh do fuck off Tom. In what way is he "LGBTQ+"? He's a man with a female partner. He's a white male. Wear your pink dungarees as much as you like, but stop pretending to be terribly discriminated against when people experience real discrimination and oppression in the world.
