What nurses have to put up with. His poor wife (although that word's not used*), his poor kids

I'm a non-binary parent but have had to accept being called 'Daddy' | Metro News https://share.google/CdGfmxVnizOeyxBbe

Admittedly, when we arrived at the delivery suite on Tuesday night I did tell the lead midwife that my pronouns are they/them

Of course he did.

The whole article is worth a read, simultaneously hilarious, jawdropping and troubling. I thought he could put it on stage at the next Fringe, it'd bring the house down. It's hard to believe it wasn't ghost written by Glinner as a pisstake.

*hopefully they're not married °so leaving this self obsessed bloke will be easier.

°how would that go anyway? 'I now pronoun you wife and....erm!'

I wish that society could be more inclusive towards trans and non-binary folks especially as it pertains to parenthood.

I'd already read that article. They go along with social convention for the sake of the children.

What's wrong with that? Surely that's what the GC want?

They go along with social convention grudgingly admit they have biology for the sake of the children.

Fixed that for you.

How on earth did any woman allow him near enough to get pregnant.

He's a walking ick.

I know. What a wet wipe.

BananaBananas · 26/08/2025 14:04

It just gets more and more ridiculous

DramaLlamacchiato · 26/08/2025 14:05

How can he not feel like a man or a woman but still felt able to get someone pregnant by inserting his penis into her vagina?

Stupid bastard

FourthInstar · 26/08/2025 14:07

Re Baba -. what about Baba Yaga? I think the Baba bit is something like' old woman' or 'hag' or maybe even 'grandmother'. @SionnachRuadh may know.

This is what I don’t get about the whole non binary thing. I don’t wake up feeling feminine. I’m currently in a jeans and a hoody and hair tied back. But my kids came out of my vagina so I’m mum.

I used to be very tolerant on these things but honestly who has time for this shit now

I think in Russian in means grandmother. But in Asian cultures it means grandfather

Muffinmam · 26/08/2025 14:21

Parents with mental health conditions that are demonstrably at the birth of their child should not be allowed to take that child home and should be cleared that they are safe to be around.

Muffinmam · 26/08/2025 14:22

*demonstrated

Dippythedino · 26/08/2025 14:23

"Someone there suggested ‘Baba’ – an existing term in Asian and Middle Eastern languages which means father or gender-neutral elder – which I liked, but I ultimately ruled it out as it would have felt like cultural appropriation."

Baba is Asian/Middle Eastern cultures refer to a father or a male elder not a gender neutral elder like this idiot claimed.

Also, he chose not to use the term Baba due to fear of cultural appropriation. However, he doesn't have the brain cells to join the dots when it comes to appropriating a female identity as part of his non binary journey. Funny that, isn't it? A lot of these liberal men just talk a load of shit.

Aria999 · 26/08/2025 14:23

How on earth are the poor medical team supposed to know what alternative to 'Daddy' to call him if he can't even figure it out himself...?

Tay596 · 26/08/2025 14:23

Poor man, he had to find some way to make himself feel special when he was unemployed and living back with mummy and daddy.

He found all the answers right there on SM, not that there's any kind of social contagion to all this nonsense of course.

lcakethereforeIam · 26/08/2025 14:28

The reddit posted upthread is amazing. I didn't think that sort of talk was allowed on that forum.

I agree he put his consideration of and rejection of 'baba' just so he could signal his virtue. I'd have been more likely to use that term to refer to the baby.

If he's reading this thread or that reddit I hope his face is as pink as his hair.

I was genuinely surprised by the reddit thread.

ThatPlumSquid · 26/08/2025 14:33

That's a lot of words he has used to essentially say "I really wish I wasn't a straight white man even though that's exactly what I am" those poor kids!

Xather as alternative name was 10/10

WhatterySquash · 26/08/2025 14:43

I wonder if he knows about city traders/bankers and their pink shirts. Pink can be very masculine-coded, but he's so sexist and basic that waving pink around is how he think he can signal "not a man".

FattyMcFattyArse · 26/08/2025 14:43

Good grief. The physical act of putting his penis into a woman and impregnating her is about as male as you can get. Fathering children isn't a non-binary act. Donating his sperm defines him as a male-gamete carrying human. I.e. a man.

In the words of Darth Vader..."I am your father".

Why should having pink hair and clothing and embracing your femininity as a man mean you can't be called a man? If society wants to be "inclusive" then feminine men should be more accepted. As men. Not whatever batshit pronouns or appropriations of the opposite sex or something in the middle are currently in fashion.

lcakethereforeIam · 26/08/2025 14:43

I've googled him, I'm starting to feel a bit stalkerish. He was a candidate for the Green Party. He seems to have been part of the campaign against Doc Stock but left the party after he was asked about it. Which seems a bit extreme if all he did was support it. So I think he may have done more than support it.

He seems a prick of the first water.

I hope his babies and their mother are doing well. I wish them strength.

I thought this had to be satire when talked about calling himself Baba but decided not to as it would be cultural appropriation

I loved that bit 😭😂

Anyway, "Tom" seems like a bit of a masculine-gendered name. Might want to think about changing that, seeing as it's so awful to be seen as a fella.

Lins77 · 26/08/2025 14:48

Sussexswain · 26/08/2025 14:19

I think in Russian in means grandmother. But in Asian cultures it means grandfather

So he had the opportunity to culturally appropriate several cultures at one time!

But then his head may have exploded.

Non binary ✔️
Green Party ✔️

I will bet £5 he is also vegan

WhatterySquash · 26/08/2025 14:50

Have to say the photo that appears in the OP is brilliant though. How can anyone pack that much smugness into one face? That's part of what makes it come over as a piss-take - the Rik from the Young Ones facial expression.

'Tom' is a male cat also slang for a prostitute, usually female. So, kinda both sexes...?

Yes, a vegan! I'm surprised he didn't mention that. Also lives in Brighton.

Couldn't be more of a stereotype if he was AI generated.

Eta stuff
