I am exhausted by the fwr thread ( guess which one?) that has got me so bloody angered by the entitlement of the op, but also so proud of (almost) all the women on there. Erudite, factual, clever...womanhood is marvellous!

I came very very close to using STRONG LANGUAGE on that thread. It's fascinating the way however soft and charming the initial approach, the cloven hoof slips out under the hem of the skirt after a few hours.

Not sure which of the two candidates you're referring to, both titles made me assume trolls posting clickbait. Life's too short. The megabytes of this stuff is what always drives me away from MN.

I really was trying to be nice and understanding but it’s just blown my head apart that that isn’t what they want. If there’s any line at all that we want to keep, that’s it it has to go. Regardless of the reason.

Apparently it's National Bow Tie Day. If anything will cheer you up it's the sight of a gerbil, a pig, a beetle, an android, hedgehogs, etc., etc. rocking a bow tie.

The gerbils have made a meal with farfalle pasta. One version that is suitable for vegetarians. I ate all the mushrooms earlier with my bacon butty, such a fun gal. So necessarily there's none with the pasta. There's gluten free garlic bread to go with. Then cupcakes decorated with bowties in buttercream icing. A few petit fours shaped like bows to finish.

One of the capybara got confused or misheard and is making a small boat with eyes painted on the bows.

@Taztoy People sometimes talk disingenuously about space for constructive debate. I'm not going to waste my time or lend trans ideology and intellectual credibility it doesn't warrant by debating whether and how sex matters.

Don't get me wrong, I do my educational bit, but I concentrate on people who can accept certain basic premises, analyse evidence and follow an argument. I made some headway in the wake of the Supreme Court ruling, but on the forum where I engaged online I blocked a lot of people I knew would be hurting abuse and distractions. I wish MN had that facility.

I have never actually enquired of said groundhog (who lives under my garage) what its sex is, so for present purposes can we assume she's female? I'm sure she was feeding kids under there, but the heartless soul has probably left them to forage for themselves while she flits across the Atlantic.

Happy National Bow Tie Day! I tried reading the other thread but it gave me severe indigestion so I gave up.

I love a proper bow tie. Love seeing them dangling untied at the end of a happy evening of good food, good conversation, good company and good wine. Could we have some port later on, maybe some single malt for those who prefer whisky?
