Graham Linehan on Joe Rogan why he left the UK

rriffraff · 07/08/2025 16:16

Graham Linehan talking on Joe Rogan about the UK trans movement - most of it I have heard him talking about before but when he talked about moving to the USA, Joe asked him (with regard to so many people being jailed for facebook posts etc.)
'Do you think that people are going to bail out of the UK and leave it a mental institution?'
Graham replied:
'The last few months I was in the UK I felt so paranoid and afraid because I thought I barely exist as a person there, I exist only to get sued and for the police to visit me'.
He is being sued again currently and has to return to the UK to face trial.

It is a terrible sign of the state of the country that people like Graham can't stay here and the state helps to harrass him and others via the police and the courts.

V tired. Misread your post. Yes, women are totes cool with letting men into their spaces until they commit a crime.

Honestly, pop back to trans Reddit where the arguments are not so closely dissected.

Edited

Most women don't care. Men and women will use each others restrooms as well at times. It's a big deal to you, that much is clear. That doesn't mean it's wrong or that everyone else needs to cater to it.

My mother agrees with me. She's a woman. Does she not count? And my comments aren't relevant to sex. Identity politics are bullshit.

Predators can already go into the women's restroom, or the men's room. Restrooms aren't safe spaces. For anyone.

You need to get with the local lingo to blend in better. In the mighty Britannia we go to the loo, lavatory, toilet, bog or water closet. Sometimes the outhouse or the khazi.

And, if you want to seem really classy, the shitter. That's what our late Queen used to say when she was caught short.

Ceoofsnacks · 08/08/2025 19:31

You are so far behind on this topic. Do you understand the SC ruled on the meaning sex in the Equalities Act? Maybe just read the ruling and come back. Single sex spaces are permitted and mean single sex and they are allowed for privacy and dignity alone... so much of what you have said is just flat out wrong. They are lawful and people DO have a right to NOT be "uncomfortable" based on sex etc etc I could go on ... most of what you said it factually incorrect.

Bingowingsincoming · 08/08/2025 19:32

Might be worth us just completely ignoring him? What a dick.

Back to Glinner. Grateful for all the men (unlike "Erin" 🙄) that are decent people. My DH and son are two who are doing the same, and it really puts into sharp focus the patheticness of the men who can't.

I don't usually watch Joe Rogan because he isn't my cup of tea. But Erin is working so hard to fill this thread up with their sealioning that I am wondering if the interview with GL is actually worth watching.

Yes, I think the same. JR probably not my normal cup of tea, but probably worth a listen/watch of the Glinner interview.

Anyone reached the IT crowd recently?

I am going to kindly suggest that you actually READ the Supreme Court judgement.

I personally have no issues with women who identify as transmen using the womens' toilets or the unisex toilets. The judgement, however, has considered those women/transmen who have modified their bodies to a large degree with testosterone. Which you will be able to read all about if you bother read it.

How do you know if they are trans or not? They don't need to announce that in public, so you wouldn't know. This makes no sense.

Appealing to the law doesn't make something right or wrong, and laws can change. There are lots of things that are legal that shouldn't be, and things that are illegal that shouldn't be. There are also actual safeguarding issues that people who are obsessed with public toilet usage will completely downplay or flat out ignore themselves. This is the problem with most activist movements. They will typically obsess over what personally bothers them, and demand that people who disagree with them are evil bigots, but then those same people will completely dismiss other causes that they aren't interested in.

By this logic, men who are uncomfortable around gay men should have the right to kick them out of places too. People are uncomfortable with lots of things, and they aren't getting laws dedicated to them, just because the supreme court says this, doesn't make it right. And it also doesn;t flat out say that all trans people be banned from womens toilets, Appealing to the law is silly, because there are likely many laws you disagree with. It's not a judgement of right or wrong. Just what some groups of people want.

CassOle · 08/08/2025 19:41

Sorry, Erin, I can't reply to your bollocks now, I'm steeling myself to watch a 3-hour interview with GL.

Maybe you could use the 3 hours by reading the judgment I mentioned? You'd even have enough time left to bake some cakes if you fancy. There are plenty of good recipes on this forum if you need one.

Ceoofsnacks · 08/08/2025 19:49

😂 you have an opinion and you don't like the majority view or the law ... got it. Write your MP or something. 🤷🏼‍♀️

He thinks it's okay to assault anyone he perceives to be male in the women's restroom.

You know taking the context out of a message so that you can use it to argue your point is intellectual dishonesty, right?

In any case, my point stands.

Enjoy your 3 hours of bollocks by a guy who thinks disabled people shouldn't have bodily autonomy and thinks you should assault anyone who might be male for entering the 'wrong' room.

Obsessing over public toilets isn't a majority view, but then, popularity means nothing. Most people are religious in general, you may just be a different branch of religious thought.

I don't really care about sports one way or the other

And here is where you loose all of your validity.
Just because you don't care doesn't mean that others should give up their rights.

You always bring it down to toilets because if you also mention changing rooms, refuges and rape crisis centres, well your argument looks even less persuasive than usual.

You can't safeguard an open door. Literally anyone can go in at anytime. Why was none of this being given any attention until recent years? Aside from trans people using the restrooms they wanted for decades without anyone caring, men and women use each others restrooms anyway, like to skip queues. It's not a big deal.

Im as old as the hills, and i can assure you that men have not been using womens toilets with womens blessing for decades.

If they used womens toilets it was either in night clubs or without the approval of women.

Think about it, if it was common, why is it only recently signs have had to be made saying 'don't challenge anyone - they know their gender'? If we accepted it in the 70s, 80s and 90s, why dont we now, and why do we need the signs reminded us to accept something perfectly normal?

Even if the women in the 70s were happy with men in the toilets, it doesn't mean we have to consent to it now.

No one is saying that single sex toilets protect women all of the time. But what single sex facilities do is make any man in the womens stick out. Any woman or girl would natural pause if they saw a man in there. A man genuinely in the wrong toilets would be mortified. It is not normal for men to use the womens toilets to avoid a queue.

What TRA want is for us not to notice the men in the womens space because it valudates them. Theyve repurposed the womens space and are pretending that we don't need, want and never had it in the first place.

Its just a lie.

The Jacks here. But yeah. We're generally not going for a bath or a little rest. Although it was often a sanctuary from annoying individuals....in the old days

illinivich · 08/08/2025 20:23

By this logic, men who are uncomfortable around gay men should have the right to kick them out of places too.

Thats not the logic.

Women are entitled to have single sex spaces in law. And sex mean sex not gender identity.

Toilets, changing rooms are not separated out by gender identity, sexuality , or any other characteristics. So no, a man cannot exclude another man because of his sexuality. You logic doesnt make sense.

Catiette · 08/08/2025 20:56

@Erin1207, you've replied to an awful lot of posts but not mine. Could you comment on the statistics I provided that prove that single sex spaces aren't about individual feelings and perception, but rather about evidence-based risk reduction which leads to a proven and significant decrease in sexual assaults?

A rare bit of self-awareness from Erin.

How much time do you actually spend in public loos Erin? It seems as though it's your whole life the way you bang on about it.
