Graham Linehan on Joe Rogan why he left the UK

Graham Linehan talking on Joe Rogan about the UK trans movement - most of it I have heard him talking about before but when he talked about moving to the USA, Joe asked him (with regard to so many people being jailed for facebook posts etc.)
'Do you think that people are going to bail out of the UK and leave it a mental institution?'
Graham replied:
'The last few months I was in the UK I felt so paranoid and afraid because I thought I barely exist as a person there, I exist only to get sued and for the police to visit me'.
He is being sued again currently and has to return to the UK to face trial.

It is a terrible sign of the state of the country that people like Graham can't stay here and the state helps to harrass him and others via the police and the courts.

I think he's a bloody hero. And yes, an absolute tragedy that he's had to leave the UK. He is unemployable here and constantly being (maliciously) sued has clearly had a terrible impact on his mental health. I wish him nothing but happiness.

What rights? Not everyone agrees with what a right should even be. Also, Graham said that it's okay to assault any perceived man who is in the women's restroom. Why is it okay to assault someone if they aren't actually attacking or harassing anyone? He was also extremely hysterical and condescending about the bodily autonomy of a disabled woman who got trans surgery. As if disabled people can't make their own informed choices.

That women should have the right to compete against other women only in sport. That isn't a right we can agree on? That women should have access to female only rape crisis counselling. Christ that video he posted was awful. I truly hope she actually had capacity to agree to that surgery but goodness me it made me uncomfortable.

He's certainly been put through it. I just heard him say the police had been visiting him at home in the UK for 8? years.

I don't know if Americans know who he is, but they certainly will after Joe Rogan.

I hope he can do his musical there (or a version of it) and he gets the fame and fortune he deserves.

I’m shocked to learn he’s moved away, but not surprised. I think his bravery & commitment to fighting for women’s rights is astonishing, I have huge respect for him.

I don't really care about sports one way or the other. If a sports division decides to have it single sex, then that's fine, but it doesn't really seem to be about fairness. There was outrage and complaints about a trans woman/man being in a female chess tournament. Chess isn't a body endurance sport. So fairness wasn't the issue there.
For public restrooms and locker rooms, no I don't believe they are 'rights' issues for anyone, male or female, trans or not. Public restrooms are not safe spaces, and both men and women have used each other's restrooms for one reason or another for years, whether it's to skip a queue or whatever. Sexless locker rooms, toilets, nude beaches etc. Those all exist already and have throughout history. So there's nothing inherently wrong with it. Feeling uncomfortable with it isn't really a valid reason to make it a human rights issue, because people are uncomfortable with lots of things, and they aren't pandered to about it.

It is very alarming the harassment he has been subjected to, whatever our personal opinion of his character may be: we should be able to see the injustices commited against him, as against so many others. It's sad. I truly wish him well.

We keep men out of single sex spaces for safeguarding reasons. Why on earth should there be an exception for this one group of men?

With sports, why don't you think women should be able to set their own boundaries? Regardless of the reasons why, women are severely underrepresented at the top levels chess (to use your example). Why do you want to make that worse by letting men into their competitions?

You seem to think women should just roll over and give up their rights and spaces as soon as men say they want them. Thankfully the majority of women have much more self respect than you.

It's telling that this person doesn't understand that the "uncomfortable" is not a baseless feeling.... it's based on reality and WOMEN all instinctively and through lived experience know this. He doesn't understand and his perspective seems shallow and cheap because he's a man.

Hysterical is a favourite word of @Erin1207 's . Sometimes I find Glinner a bit ill tempered and obsessive. But then I read that drivel I've just endured on Reddit and just think ' go for it Graham '.

I've zero time for ppl like Rogan. It's a bloody disgrace that the liberal media won't give the GC case a fair hearing though....

toilets became a rights issue in the 1930s when women were being harassed in them at work and waited until they got home to use the loo, it was called the urinary leash. But I guess you don’t know about that or anything else.

Its good that you acknowledge that men, including trans identifying men, do have a physical advantage over women.

If you cant think of any reasons why we have separate public toilets and changing rooms, surely theres no problem with TW using the male facilities?
