All women welcome, pull up a pygmy hog, the bargerbil will serve you a drink, the flying squirrels will bring you something to read and the goats will do...I'm not entirely sure.

There may be more than the usual amount of chaos as we transition to the new thread.

Who wants the first Bloody Mary?

Can I have a virgin one please

You might just want to skip today's coverage. Shit show all round.

Yes, I know we love to see NC in action, but today had a definite Highlander 2: The Quickening aspect to it.

Magpiecomplex · 28/07/2025 22:43

Yours is the one with the blue umbrella @Boiledbeetle

Has someone snuck celery into the Bloody Mary's? 🤣🤣🤣

NasturtiumsAreUnderrated · 28/07/2025 23:01

@SionnachRuadh I'm curious as to your acquaintance with Tassie devils - I have links to Tassie via my partner and still can't get over all the amazing Aussie flora and fauna, the divergent evolution (all those hoppy marsupials...). His mother gets wallabies eating her plants - I will never not find that entrancing rather than annoying. I also persist in thinking Devils can look quite cute with their mouths closed (it's the black button nose), despite being told they're just noisy scavengers.

NasturtiumsAreUnderrated · 28/07/2025 23:05

Am I allowed to suggest that the aphorism about golf being a spoilt walk could be adapted for Bloody Marys and tomatoes?

I just randomly got interested in them - sometimes I do get interested in an animal - and read a book that was full of interesting facts. Tassie devils who live near humans often steal clothes and bedding from people's houses to make their dens cosy. They're clever wee critters.

I've been busy all day - work, recently-widowed friend over, committee meeting - so can anyone provide a brief update on the Tribunal? Or am I better off reading Fifer's remarks?

I will give it a go. Push and shove in the morning about two new witnesses who have come forward over the weekend on Sandies side. Plus NC wants to put Sandie back on the stand. JR objected

Judge wants to hear, (NC put the willies up him about appeals etc ) which no judge likes.

that will be tomorrow.

what was to follow was all about a WhatsApp group that SP was in, called Benidorm something or other.

so this group had holidayed together including SP 50th birthday at the Trump hotel.

Two witnesses (who cares what they are named) essentially grassed up Peggie to the Board, and provided a snippet from the WhatsApp group, to suit the defence.

NC helpfully had examined all 7 years worth of the what’s app exchanges (or all her gerbils did) which amounted to thousands of posts.

NC spotted on CCTV that the two witnesses spoke to each other at recess!!!

Apparently it was just about lunch (LOL)

Anyway there were on this what’s app a number of full on racist jokes about the floods in Pakistani, some of which SP posted.

So Sp has some unpalatable views.

both witnesses did not object in the group and one used the laughing emojis.

But it got worse or fucking funny depending one ones point of view,

one of the grassing witnessess posted about an adult patient presenting with nappies rash, he was one of those adult baby fetishist types, but the grass named the patient on the group so a serious breach of confidentiality, which the grass admitted to.

I guess it is NC case that NHSF did not scope wider and call into their investigation all these professional transgressions. And just focussed on Peggie and trans rights.

So the shit hit the fan

The thread exploded in to a feminist debate about racism, and disadvantages in healthcare, wether the working class was more racist etc

Massive derail in the court and the thread.

Bad day for GC in so much as the alignment with racism, in public not evident on the thread.

NC really needs to pull this back.

Sex matters issued a hasty statement

tomorrow is another day.

Ah thank you for the warm welcome and the bar looks very well stocked! Yes I carry a selection of my own condiments and various fruits. Currently an excess of homegrown tomatoes if anyone would like some?

Don't tell Boiled Beetle about the tomatoes! We have history, & it includes tomatoes. I'd show you the photos, but I did that in the previous thread & I'm getting a reputation for flashing them around at the drop of a gerbil hat.

Anyway, welcome! I've read your posts on the other thread. Relaaaaax, it's what the Bluey's here for.

I've just spent £32 on wool. Because it's free delivery.

I think I'm a bit obsessed.

In two weeks Ill be spending at least eight weeks in a non-weight-bearing cast, so knitting might be all I can manage.

I've learned proper decreasing, so I made a bit of bunting yesterday.

Ooh yeah, I always have to add another ball or two to get free postage, because then I'm not just buying yarn, I'm actually saving money which is a good thing, right?

I thought you were making yourself a knitted bikini.

Many thanks, Banned. I had a very quick look at the thread and it wasn't a happy place.

But SP could be a paid-up Nazi, and I wouldn't still defend her right not to get changed in front of a bloke.

Getting more yarn, to get free postage is definitely a sensible economical move, @MyrtleLion. And all the yarn counts as insulation for the house too.

I am somewhat grumpy about my knitting at the moment - I'm knitting a baby shawl that's a plain square, with a deep lace edging knitted onto it. You are supposed to knit each side individually, going anticlockwise, but not only did I knit 60 rows of lace edging on the wrong side of the square, I knitted it back to front too, so I can't retrieve the situation, and have had to rip it all out and start that edge again. It's probably at least 6 hours work wasted. I did a lot of sweary words under my breath whilst I was ripping it back.

I feel your pain!

I am rubbish at picking up dropped stitches unless it's just one. I will unpick three rows or more one stitch at a time to pick something up. But then I'll rip it and realise I'm going to drop more stitches trying to pick up a row than if I start again.

Or I'll pretend I meant it to be backwards.

I knitted a purse the other day and it said "RS" but I was on the wrong side because the pattern was written that way. So I added a new row to get to the right side and of course the pattern was wrong.

The purse definitely needed a purl side on the front and a stocking stitch side on the back.

I am considering dabbling in circular needles, but then I'll buy double ended needles and before you know it I'll be knitting cable!

Just six weeks ago I was oblivious, sober and wouldn't dream of picking up wool. Now look what's happening!!!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 29/07/2025 11:40

I would heartily recommend getting circulars, @MyrtleLion - I have the KnitPro Zings, and I use them for everything - they are so much easier to use than ordinary, straight needles. And they are pretty colours too (shallow)!

BeLemonNow · 29/07/2025 12:29

Not a knitter @MyrtleLion don't have the patience ut I did break my foot last year and bought myself a mini greenhouse. V important to treat yourself and have something to do after surgery 😉
