... oh, & there we all are, having fun in the field.

Ooh ooh ooh can we recreate the scene out of footloose?

Nonono we MUST have roll bars on the tractors, remember the 1970s, barely a week went by without a rolled-tractor-related fatality.

Calorie gluten and alcohol food and drink are one thing, non fatal tractor accidents are another.

But if we're getting machines, baggsy me a digger - a little one so I can dig holes and move rocks.

You got it, Deano!

I dunno, can you? I've never got past the titles.

I don't want some little Fergie lookalike tractor; I want a proper, grown up tractor:

OK then, but this is what the AI says you'll look like.

Huh???!

Boiledbeetle · 11/07/2025 18:58

I am currently working my way through responses to over 40 points on a document. Is it bad that my response to just one point has 60 sections??

ifIwerenotanandroid · 11/07/2025 19:00

Is KB hot in it? Cause I get my hot KB from Tremors & Stir of Echoes.

If it's an application for a bus pass, probably.

Sometimes I miss having physical copies of documents. Sometimes friends send me links to articles saying "think you'll like this" and within 30 seconds I feel an uncontrollable urge to get out my red marker and write no and wrong and impasse of schematic dogmatism and what is even your argument here

That's not a bad representation of me apart from the hair colour (I'm ginger) and the boobage. Think 2 fried pigeon eggs on a plate.

I have had to print it all off as I'm losing track of what I said i where.

I now have a what seems like a ream of paper with red pen all over them.

In a previous life I was once given an instruction to "proofread the annual report", which turned out to be a big bundle of paper with the Permanent Secretary's scribbles all over it.

Still rather do it that way than trying to do it on a screen.

SionnachRuadh · 11/07/2025 19:49

I must confess though, Nat King Cole was not a normal part of our diet growing up, and no more was Footloose.

Out in the sticks, we had both kinds of music, country and metal. So I'm well versed in Black Sabbath and Atomic Rooster, but also have a bizarrely detailed knowledge of the Jim Reeves discography.

Bannedontherun · 11/07/2025 20:00

Well we have a tractor fetish sub group who sometimes knit, should i be worried?

@JanesLittleGirl yeah someone else who has small norkige

Not unless they indulge both hobbies at the same time.

ErrolTheDragon · 11/07/2025 20:40

tea and sympathy please, gerbils. One of my eyes has been a bit irritated for a couple of days, last night ot became very red, streaming tears and quite painful. A combination of Welsh 111, boots optometrist followed by Bangor hospital eye clinic found I’ve somehow got a 3.5mm lesion on the cornea - no idea how!. The optometrist said I must have a high pain threshold.😬
chloramphenicol gunk to prevent infection, yuck, and - in a period of such lovely clear bright sun - quite bad photosensitivity - hurts even with that eye shut. I think I’ll need to fashion an eyepatch.

AsWithGlad · 11/07/2025 20:43

Ooooh, Errol, I am sorry to read that. I do hope eyes heal quickly.

Bannedontherun · 11/07/2025 20:51

Sorry Errol.

FuzzyPuffling · 11/07/2025 20:54

Oh Errol, that sounds thoroughly unpleasant. I do hope it heals up very soon.

I bet you look cool in sunglasses though. 😎

Ouch! Hope you get better soon.

SionnachRuadh · 11/07/2025 21:14

Ouch! Sorry Errol, though there are worse things than an eyepatch - I've had to use one in the past and it's a fun talking point.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 11/07/2025 21:15

Ooh, Errol! Much sympathy.

... oh, & there we all are, having fun in the field.

I'd like with one a proper cab and aircon, like combine I've been it. Also Siri, so I contact the bar and ask for a beer.

It's proper combine country here at the moment. I heard one from the garden this morning, which must mean that the barley down the hill has been cut, and saw one busy about its work when I walked Brains and Batshit this afternoon.

And Marie, Attracta 😂

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 11/07/2025 21:29

Ohhh ouch, @ErrolTheDragon! I hope you feel better soon.

EdithStourton · 11/07/2025 21:30

Just caught up - your eye issue sounds horrible, Errol. I hope it resolves very quickly.

I am dangerous in such situations. I recently read the financial report of an organisation of which I am a trustee. I sat there and cast and cross-cast the accounts (I have no idea if it's still called that), and checked out depreciation. Well, oops. Amendments were necessary. We had already decided to get a proper auditor in next year, for which I give thanks.
Though I'll be checking their sums as well.
