What will happen when the EHRC Code of Practice is released?

And is approved by Parliament. More protests? More moobs on the streets? Will organisations follow the law now that they can no longer say they are waiting for the EHRC? Will we ever go back to 'normal'?

Endless gnashing.

lnks · 28/06/2025 08:24

Does it need to be approved by parliament? I wasn’t aware of that.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 28/06/2025 08:25

Loads more mantrums, more grifting from GLP, loads of performative “waahhhh it’s sooooooo complicated” from organisations, lots of weary women making complaints to get organisations to comply with the fucking law, and judging by FWR about a million more threads from a buzzing insect

Datun · 28/06/2025 08:26

Whining and tantruming for England.

Followed by threats of lawsuits from women if providers don't comply.

Followed by providers saying sorry, we have to comply to TRAs.

Followed by rage and more tantrums, moobs and piss.

Followed by providers saying for fuck's sake, get a grip, this is getting boring (and expensive)

NotBadConsidering · 28/06/2025 08:26

Lots of toddler tantrums, talk of genocide, illogicality, and men deliberately transgressing boundaries in aggressive ways thus proving the point of it in the first place.

Yes, from the EHRC website:

"The EHRC will review responses received as part of the consultation and make necessary amendments to the draft Code of Practice. It will then be submitted to the Minister for Women and Equalities for approval and laying in Parliament, before it acquires statutory status".

Is that protester wearing that mask because they couldn’t be bothered to shave that morning?

ItsCoolForCats · 28/06/2025 08:30

It seems we're in for quite a few court cases. Maybe it will settle down after that.

I fear the ultimate aim is to delay for as long as possible so that they can amend the EA to replace sex with gender. That’s what’s this whole movement is about. Then it will be compatible with the Scottish GRR, that will become law and then they’ll update the GRA along the same lines.

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 28/06/2025 08:40

More shroud waving, more cry bullying, more evacuation of the emotional bowels in public, more foot stamping, more shouty-ness.

SabrinaThwaite · 28/06/2025 08:49

The EHRC’s lawyers have responded to Angry Dad at the GLP wrt to its claims that the interim advice breaches Human Rights, calling it misconceived.

Essentially it was:

(a) no it doesn’t
(b) even if it did, in the UK you still have to follow the SC ruling
(c) there’s no sufficient case law to demonstrate there being a human right for anyone of the opposite sex to demand access to a single sex space where it is provided for privacy, dignity and safety.

I think you're right, but I'm not sure it would survive the public scrutiny that would be necessary if they want to amend the EA. A lot of things have been snuck in by stealth/no debate. That won't wash anymore.

And I think the wider landscape will change as well. More and more countries are banning puberty blockers and 'gender-affirming care'. The US will eventually catch up. And the science on male advantages in sport are pretty compelling now. And I think more detransitioners will come forward and there will be accountability for that. And questions as to how vulnerable young people got caught up in all this.

Very much doubt it will settle down, each time there will be less voices but it won't die down.

NoBinturongsHereMate · 28/06/2025 09:02

As far as I remember, the approval process is more passive than active. It's not like Parliament voting on a bill, where they have to actively approve it. It's more that they get sent an advance copy and have a period in which they can raise objections. If no active disagreement, it passes automatically.

Ah, i see the morning seething hate is here.

EHRC guidance will get released, protests will continue, lobbying will continue, inevitably end up in court..and eventually the ECtHR. In the meantime trans people will still use whichever facilities are appropriate.

Eventually the moral panic will die down, then in 10-20 years you'll be pretending you were OK with trans people all the time, like you did the last time.

Haha!!

it's not women getting their moobs out, pissing on public statues across London, and threatening to kill people who won't let them access vulnerable women and girls.

WithSilverBells · 28/06/2025 09:07

This 'right to privacy' argument is poor. Everytime you step outside your front door people can see whether you are a male or female. They will also notice if you have a visible disability, the colour of your skin, if you are heavily pregnant, your gender expression and your age group.

Article 8 privacy rights are about your right to live your life privately without government interference. They are not about your right to get everyone around you to pretend that you are something that you are not.

and yet here you are, again, in a place where you’re not in any way required or compelled to be. Can only assume you like it here

No hate from me. I think you're projecting 🙂 I'm just wondering when people will follow the law and remember that women have rights too.

That's a great WiFi signal if you can post on here from an alternative universe. 😮

In addition, there does need to be an investigation into the EHRC tho - it's shameful that the investigation that was going on got 'disappeared' by Badenoch. It'll all come out in the wash.
