Yes, the genius behind the rogue critique of the Cass review is now the boss. Good luck Agent Clownfish in your mission to destroy the rest of the BMA’s credibility!

@BeeSouriante how did you acquire your sex? You’ve forgotten to tell us on the other thread.

ToClimb · 28/06/2025 11:02

Plasticwaste · 28/06/2025 00:44

Bee, why haven't you responded to the several other threads you've started?

Bee likes to come into threads, drop bullshit "evidence" to tell us why we are wrong, then clearly flies off to visit rainbows.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 28/06/2025 11:14

I think there are doctors stuck in the same trap that Helen Joyce raises about the parents of trans children. If they don’t keep claiming what they have done and said is right they will have to face up to the lifelong harm they have done to vulnerable children.
They have to be right because being wrong will shatter their self image as a moral being in a sea of bigots. They have, perhaps subconsciously, tied their identity to this issue and now they have to maintain their position or question themselves.

theDudesmummy · 28/06/2025 11:21

I also left the BMA last year, very glad I did.

Amazing the number of grown men who would like to have children sterilised, keep them with pre-pubescent genitals and mentally immature, but chronologically above the legal age of consent.

And don’t forget the ones who advocate for castration, such as those lovely men at WPATH…

MassiveWordSalad · 28/06/2025 13:44

Dr Ruth Pearce (not a medical doctor) along with other non-medical academics (including Sally Hines) co-authored an article advocating that trans-identifying females should be able to take take testosterone while pregnant despite the proven and potential risks to the unborn child.

This is not a person whose opinions on the Cass Report should be taken seriously 🙄

More details on Dr Pearce, as collated by Glinner.

No one is not taking it seriously.

Sadly, now we have the situation like the bad old days where trans kids are trying anything else. Hell, even before all this when PBs were just being heavily gatekept, I had a conversation with a young trans woman who told me how she managed to DIY for years during her mid-teens.

Puberty blockers were the compromise, sadly Streeting and his ilk are more interested in engaging in cruelty to bolster his diet Reform image than what's best for young people.

I would like to think that people like you who have egged vulnerable confused young people on to have unnecessary and irreversible surgery and to take hormones in quantities their bodies have not evolved to cope with, leaving them as infertile, lifelong medical patients with poor sexual response, reduced quality of life and shortened life expectancy might one day look back and feel shame, but I'm not holding my breath.

MarieDeGournay · 28/06/2025 16:34

The BMA is just one more 'captured' trade union amongst so many others, but a lot of people think that the 'British Medical Association' is some kind of serious national governing body which can speak with authority on medical issues.

So when TRAs say 'Look, even the British Medical Association disagrees with Cass', it carries more weight than it should.

Plasticwaste · 28/06/2025 17:30

Can I just say, OP, I adore the nickname Tom Clownfish? 😁

Multilayered!

hawheresthebmareviewnow · 28/06/2025 18:05

I left the BMA. I joined the HCSA not an option for everyone I know but at least it’s a trade union. You just can’t argue with stupid. 😞

princessleah1 · 28/06/2025 18:35

There was an excellent interview on Times Radio on Friday with a doctor complaining the BMA had been taken over by student type activists and are an embarrassment to the profession

Theeyeballsinthesky · 28/06/2025 07:52

i wonder how many BMA members voted? On the other thread about the BMA several posters who were members said they had stopped engaging with the BMA because of the batshittery

As a BMA member, I certainly wasn't offered an opportunity to vote. Many others have said the same.

It is concerning to have someone who seems ideologically driven by issues such as this now in such a position of influence.

Thought you were talking about me for a second there and could only agree tbh 😂
(Even I’d be better than Clownfish though)

If you were in the slightest bit informed, you would know that the UK doesn't do trans surgeries with anyone who isn't an adult. Sadly you're not at all concerned about cisgender girls having elective surgery.

PermanentTemporary · 29/06/2025 00:33

I don’t like cosmetic surgery for any girls and young women. I think I actually did talk a colleague out of a breast enlargement once, though maybe she just wasn’t that into the idea - I wasn’t really trying to persuade, I was just horrified. Equally horrified when a young female cousin had a bilateral mastectomy in order to present as more masculine. It all looks like self harm to me.

I didn't say they were minors, I said young people. Adults can be young. I find cosmetic surgery a very problematic area. Lots of money making opportunities from making people unhappy with their looks and promising them the earth.

Strange how you only care when it comes to people who are trans tho. Probs just a coincidence.

Does your namecalling indicate that you're against criticism of the Cass report, despite all the international pushback..or are you not aware of that pushback?

It isn’t actually ‘pushback’ is it, though?

It was a press release masquerading as academic endeavor, for the purposes of being able to wheel it out as “Doctors association says…” or “critical reviews of Cass say…”.

They even admit it is ideological, and not based on what is best for the patients.
Supporting it requires you to believe that children should be treated based on a doctor’s ideology and not on the best evidence: Medical Lysenkoism if you will.

sanluca · 29/06/2025 08:35

How do you read this, Bee? I am concerned for cosmetic surgery for all youg people= why do you only care for trans people?

stop making transpeople the center of your world, broaden your horizons a bit and maybe you will find life a little less dramatic. It is not all about you

Datun · 29/06/2025 08:40

it keeps happening. I tell you, this ideology addles the brain. Bee can't comprehend what women are saying, even.

I think we have just worked out why though D.

On another thread, when asked to summarise an article that the thread was started supposedly to discuss, BeeS's answer was that the poster should ask AI to do it.

I suspect that some posters rely on AI to disseminate articles and papers and go with that, rather than spending the effort to gain greater understanding through reading it, evaluating it and checking the conclusions personally reached. It explains a great deal, doesn't it?

Datun · 29/06/2025 09:02

Ah ok, yes.

that explains why all the links don't say what he thinks they say.

And everyone assume he's lying. It could easily just be that he's outsourcing everything he posts. Which is why there are so many contradictions and lack of comprehension

You seem to be unaware that the boring conventional approach to these things is not to prescribe powerful drugs off-label, particularly to children. TRAs strained every sinew to stop Cass getting any follow-up data on patients who had been subjected to this, so what's a cautious minister to do?

It also seems to be remarkably similar to that group who post under one username to get screenshots.

Have you noticed just how none of the usual posters who disagree with us are posting on this poster's threads? I find that remarkable.
