I'm sure there must be some arrant bollocks in here somewhere, because Jolyon.

But is there anything worrying in this?

Honestly. You'd have to laugh. Especially as it's offering to give you his free book!!

Do you think it'd count as a sale, or is the deluded prick just trying to unload all the remaindered copies?

I've only just now read their footer on the OP's link:

'Fascism feels close at hand. We want to defend trans people – and everyone it targets. Please, if you can, set up a monthly donation so we can fight for everyone. Every new monthly donor who signs up using this link will receive a signed copy of our founder’s best selling Penguin paperback ‘Bringing Down Goliath.’'

That's some mad sentence construction.

We want to defend trans people – and everyone it targets.

😶

Grammatically correct though: "it" is singular and can only refer back to Fascism.

SternJoyousBee · 20/06/2025 16:09

Back to the topic of JM. I saw him a couple of nights ago on a BBC programme about Michelle Mone. Apparently the GLP had a part in looking into the PPE scandal. I was left with the feeling of one grifter complaining about another grifter.

what surprised me though was his voice - I had never heard him speak before and expected a posh bloke rather than the whiny little boy

SternJoyousBee · 20/06/2025 16:12

Tandora · 20/06/2025 15:20

no it isn’t.

What us it then?

oh and yes it is the ruling. You cannot discriminate on the basis of sex without relying on the single sex exemption. In which case single sex has to be single sex.

Bannedontherun · 20/06/2025 16:13

@Tandora have you actually read the judgement?

Keeptoiletssafe · 20/06/2025 16:15

Thread nearly done and still no discussion with me about toilet design ie. How the single gender toilets work in practice or legislation.

Lucky they’ll never be used then.

An author read audio book could be used as a form of torture.

Bannedontherun · 20/06/2025 16:13

@Tandora have you actually read the judgement?

And if so, how many pages was it?

We've seen multiple references to an incorrect page count, suggesting that the really-hard-to-understand one might not actually be the one the Supreme Court published themselves.

There's always one ...

We all know how single sex toilets work in practice, and the various ways in which they are designed.

There have been multiple discussions around design and around the legislation in relation to design throughout the sub forum in recent times.

Its really really important people understand this.

Tandora keeps really reallying at us in this patronising manner whilst being unable to say anything that makes any sense. I've read this stupid phrase half a dozen times now.

They haven't sent their best have they?

Can we get an upgrade please monitors?

Shortshriftandlethal · 20/06/2025 16:27

We've enabled a culture in which people feel that their feelings must take centre stage and be indulged all of the time. Everyone must show kindness to other people's feelings and affirm them at every stage...never suggesting that people should toughen up or develop some resillience or create some boundaries or limits to their self indulgent naval gazing and introspection.

But @Cornishpotato you really need to understand that what the SC judges wrote in their ruling really wasn’t what they actually wrote. And the words in the EA really really don’t mean what everyone other than Tandora and the TRAs understand them to mean. Really

Obviously this isn't a universal value system, so the practical outcome is society broken down into a narcissists vs everyone-else binary caste system to make this workable.

NecessaryScene · 20/06/2025 16:31

Well, when words in general don't really mean things (at least in any direct sense, but rather only in some esoteric sense), then laws written in words don't mean things, do they?

Bannedontherun · 20/06/2025 16:32

This thread will be finished soon, hope that the bollocksa women have had to live through will too.

SternJoyousBee · 20/06/2025 15:40

Oh so now you want to change the meaning of “sex” itself?

Edited

Quite likely.

They have all sorts of explanations about why actual reproductive sex doesn't matter and its just as reasonable to use "I've grown boobs sex", or "cock chop op" sex, or "cross sex hormone sex", or "in my mind sex"

They have actually lost their minds to this crazy stuff.

NecessaryScene · 20/06/2025 16:36

SternJoyousBee · 20/06/2025 16:32

Really? 🤔

Yes - I refer you to this earlier post

"Only because you are stuck in a system of conceptual and linguistic dogma that is rendering you incapable of contemplating the actual realities of human diversity."

Law is the very epitome of conceptual and linguistic dogma.

MyAmpleSheep · 20/06/2025 16:06

Grammatically correct though: "it" is singular and can only refer back to Fascism.

But "it" is not in the same sentence as "fascism". So it is grammitically incorrect. Each sentence must stand on its own.

NecessaryScene · 20/06/2025 16:39

What's that law about trying to point out grammar errors without committing them?

Either you just broke your own rule, or that second "it" was supposed to be in quotes.

😛

Didn't someone say about Michelle Mone that she was never the business success she presented herself as, but she had a genius for publicity?

Sounds a bit like Jolyon.

Bannedontherun · 20/06/2025 16:39

It is a bit late for a derail of a derail.

RareGoalsVerge · 20/06/2025 16:39

@Tandora as this thread is nearly full I would really appreciate it if you could start a new thread to continue these clarifications. I am genuinely interested in getting to understand your viewpoint better.
