There is a thread already...

He'll no doubt be bumping his gums about human rights and not taking the test as a matter of principle but if it means he can no longer hit women under the guise of sport, I'd say that's a win.

orangegato · 31/05/2025 06:58

Wonder how many actual women will claim HR abuse?

RedToothBrush · 31/05/2025 10:56

There are exceptions under article 8 which very much will be covered if he decides to squeal about human rights. These ARE applicable in any tournament taking place in Europe.

You lose your right to privacy if there is a legitimate reason to believe keeping it will cause harm to someone else.

That very much is the case in this situation.

Surely the women he’s fighting can counter claim against him? Being forced to fight a man in a female competition

MarieDeGournay · 31/05/2025 11:37

If he doesn't take the test, he can't compete.
If he takes the test and fails, he can't compete.
Either way, no woman will be forced to face him in the ring again.
Not in the amateur sport, anyway, who knows what the big bucks in pro boxing might arrange..😧

He'll back out of the test with some feeble excuse about privacy. Yu Ting has done that twice now. And the ideologues will still claim we have no proof that these men are men.

True, and ideologues gonna ideologue, but it's wearing a bit thin when IK and YT have been given the opportunity to put all us bigots in our place with a simple swab test, and haven't eagerly done so..

eatfigs · 31/05/2025 12:17

I'm hoping his full medical report gets leaked and it's reported more widely, not just the few extracts on one journalist's own online publication.

That way the pressure will be on sports governing bodies not just to ban him indefinitely from all female competition, but that he be retrospectively disqualified and have every title and medal taken from him and restored to the female athletes, who actually deserved it.

Algeria are carrying out the test. I wouldn't be entirely confident they'll accept the obvious.

There is provision for the test to be verified independently.

I seriously doubt they'll sign up for this controversy. Khelif will be rendered unable to fight due to some well timed 'injury' and then they'll never have to admit to their lies or forfeit his Olympic medal.
