Guess we'll finally find out whether Imane Khelif is female or not. I suspect he will avoid the testing "out of principle" 🤭

I’m Cornish - I’m going to make a pasty based one.

We’re going to be feasting aren’t we??

You're right, Reddit, TERFs only have a problem with IK because IK is strong and excels at a traditionally masculine sport.

Unlike all those other elite boxers competing in the women's category who all look like Barbie and punch like children 👍

lcakethereforeIam · 01/06/2025 10:30

A pasty based hat, worn at a jaunty angle, could look quite fetching.

I was reading Reddit too and one user said "bet they [realists in other words] will be unhappy when all the other gender non conforming women fail too".
I wasn't sure if they were scientifically illiterate (and thought if you cut your hair your chromosomes change) or what.

You have to think that some of these people genuinely believe the shit they read online. Even when it's clearly rubbish to most people.

Hoydenish · 01/06/2025 10:32

If we're talking edible headwear could someone make me a Homer Simpson nacho hat please and thank you.

I don't want to overexcite you all on a Sunday morning, but this exists.

Yes, it would be a sort of pasty beret.

ArabellaScott · 01/06/2025 10:43

A raspberry pie beret? The kind you find in a posh deli store?

Helleofabore · 01/06/2025 10:44

Each day at the moment I am checking for Khelif’s response. I wonder if it will be tomorrow or whether it will be the day before the tournament, Wednesday.

I’m totally intrigued as to where he’s going to go with this.

He can’t suddenly retire as he is way too young and previously stated his aim for the next Olympics (I think). He can’t just refuse as that is not what a woman asked to undergo such a test would do.

Will he develop a sudden mysterious groin strain or something that rules him out of competition?

EasternStandard · 01/06/2025 10:56

Great news re mandatory testing

As long as it isn't a Ginsters piece of crap masquerading as a pasty hat

That would be good, no law says humble pie must be savoury.

How does "sensitive content" work? Did you label this, or did mumsnet decide automatically that it was somehow scary?

ArabellaScott · 01/06/2025 12:03

I covered it with a veil of soft focus lest anyone find it too ennervating.

I don't know if he personally will have much say in the matter. It'll be Algerian government and trainers and agents working out the response, I imagine. Tricky.

So will I. Fortunately, in real life I am Carmen Miranda.

The grift is over, and his best response might be to quietly let it slide.

Crikey! A 5 tier wedding pork pie! What WILL they think of next? As if I wasn't salivating enough, with a rib of beef about to be ready in 20 minutes!

New article from Alan Abrahamson, the sports journalist who first reported the details of the sex testing commissioned by the IBA.

He's included a screenshot of the lab report this time, confirms Khelif has a male karyotype.

If I were Khelif's agent, I would be going for the vague non-lie. 'Unfortunately unable to compete at the moment for medical reasons. Devastated to miss this competition. Hoping to return in future. Please respect privacy at this difficult time.'
