Linzi Smith is granted Judicial Review over police participation in Pride

Good for Linzi. This has big ramifications, is Pride political? If so it affects schools as well.

BREAKING: The Chief Constable of Northumbria must account to the High Court for her active participation in Northern Pride last year. She was warned. She went ahead anyway.

The court has asked if she intends to actively participate again this year. She states that she will.

Now she’ll have to defend her position at a Judicial Review in July. GC women need to feel safe in Northumbria which is why Linzi Smith is bringing the action. Pride is political.”

Linzi and solicitor Paul Conrathe were on Free Speech Nation on GB News last night talking about this.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 26/05/2025 11:35

Good for her. Having followed the Met's recent embarrassing Employment Tribunal that outed their ideological capture by trans extremism, it's long overdue that all police forces were challenged for signing up to organisations that openly lobby to remove women's rights, to transition children below the age of consent and currently to defy the law (the SC judgment).

This is fantastic news. It's going to take a lot of hard slog to undo all the damage Stonewall has done, but we're making progress all the time.

Excellent news, thank you for sharing!

With today's sickening picture of a policeman smiling away in a selfie beside a man holding a sign telling women who want and need their legal protections in law to 'be afraid' at a demo where violence was being openly threatened, the chances of the police arguing that it is not political, that they are not biased, and that they are not now openly delivering differently tiered policing according to the political groups involved, is about that of a snowball's chance in hell.

NUFC69 · 26/05/2025 11:50

As a woman living in Northumberland, I welcome this move from Linzi. I was also very concerned about the photo of the policeman with a poster and man in the thread about the man boobs demonstration.

MarieDeGournay · 26/05/2025 12:12

When Pride was Lesbian and Gay Pride, and the occasional police officer joined in a bit of awkward dancing, or bravely posed beside somebody holding a rainbow flag - it was a bit edgy, but mostly seen as a benign bit of bridge-building with a community which had not been well served by the police in the past.

Pride stopped even pretending to be about lesbians and gays years ago, and has become either over-commercialised, and/or transed, with an occasional side-order of blatant lesbophobia.

Obviously some lesbians and gays still go to Pride and enjoy the party atmosphere, and good luck to them, but many see it as having little to do with the LGB thing, and lots to do with the TQ++++ thing, and give it a wide berth.

The police would be wise to stick to doing a neutral policing job, with just the occasional bit of awkward dancing 😄

Igmum · 26/05/2025 12:19

Spot on @MarieDeGournay The Police are captured beyond the point that is acceptable in a pluralist democracy. Let’s see a bit more without fear or favour and a bit less trans activism in uniform.

orangegato · 26/05/2025 12:23

Excellent news. Makes me boak paying taxes and watching them cosy up to TRAs.

zenas · 26/05/2025 12:23

Be great if JKR was on to this via her fund. Would it qualify I wonder, if necessary?

Rightsraptor · 26/05/2025 12:28

Vanessa Jardine is the Chief Constable of Northumbria and is the LGBTQIA etc lead - I think that's the lead for the UK, not just her county. She's a big problem.

I've seen that photo a few times now - has anyone got any background to it? Where it was taken? Was it taken on the date it was posted? Have the two people been IDed?

That 's a woman's police hat in the background - does it belong to the officer in the photo??
There's a story behind the photo, and it will be interesting to discover it...

Pabbel · 26/05/2025 14:58

Not sure that's a policeman!

ALERT !
The Northumbria Police picture is from 2024 not recently. It was part of a stunt by Harry Miller in disguise to demonstrate that the Police would stand next to people holding offensive signs at Pride. So DO NOT SHARE in the context of the outrage over Baker's recent "Be Afraid" threats outside Downing Street.

See original photo here:
Why won’t the Chief Constable hold my sign?
https://thecritic.co.uk/why-wont-the-chief-constable-hold-my-sign/

In a scary example of reality catching up with satire Baker adopted the same Be Afraid slogan that Miller used as a satire.

The problem is of course the TAs will now leap on the fact this photo was part of an attempt to make TAs look bad as an example of a false flag to claim Baker a convicted criminal was justified in threatening people.
There is no point trying to make the TAs look bad through stunts. They will do that themselves. Operation Let Them Speak relies on listening and repeating what they say.

Thanks, fromorbit, I thought it was a bit too 'neat'.
Well done for IDing it correctly and saving embarrassment!

Chariothorses · 26/05/2025 21:04

Thanks for advising about this @Imnobody4 , I had no idea and am pleased to hear it. I have seen police written responses quoting the officer referred to which totally disregard basic human rights of women as a sex in favour of men who say they are women.

Chariothorses · 26/05/2025 21:07

And if Linzi reads this, thank you! The pol ice need to be held to account, from individual forces to the Cof P, for their ideolo gical trans bias and misogyny.

Helleofabore · 27/05/2025 04:32

I look forward to seeing where Linzi’s review goes. Because I feel that there has become too much willingness to allow political belief to shape officer’s actions rather than remaining impartial.

I think Harry’s action highlighted just how problematic it is. That a police officer allowed themselves to have their photo taken with a sign like that is very concerning.

That we are seeing Baker directly threaten women and the PM and telling them to be afraid, seems to me to be part of the ramifications of police and politicians who have their photos taken at these events. Photos without taking care around what signage is in the photo too.

North Tyneside here. The photo's been explained, but yesterday, I saw an explanation that he asked the pictured Bobby if he wanted a picture, the Bobby read it and said yes.

It clearly says ‘Northumbria Police’ no obviously not the protest in London. But unless you are suggesting the police officer is fake I am not sure what your point is? This shows a police officer happy to pose with a sign that at minimum clearly discriminates against a sector of the population. And the fact that nine months later they are failing to react to the same threats by a convicted criminal that are in breach of his parole conditions show just how biased the police are.

LesserCelandine · 27/05/2025 07:14

The point of Harry’s stunt was not to pretend TRAs are violent and threatening (there is plenty of evidence of that already), it is that the police are happy to side with those threats and violence. Harry’s focus is the police.

FannyCann · 27/05/2025 13:44

This is interesting. I shall be watching to see what Pride participation my NHS Trust indulges in.

Plenty of NHS trusts boast of their support for local Pride events - evidence of these sorts of activities were mandatory demands for a high score in the Rainbow badge assessments with protected time for allies/LGBTQ reps to attend.

Linzi's court case starts today.

https://x.com/RightNUFC/status/1943218881201307925?t=M3WN2LNoJ_1uEIVgxW8Vyg&s=09

Not a single senior officer - or junior officer, for that matter - has bothered to show up at court. The contempt is risible. What a coward.
