As well she should. A Union is supposed to uphold your rights not give them away calling you a transphobic dinosaur/ bigot. I hope she gets a massive payout and it scares the other unions back into line.

I thought she hadn’t gone to her union and asked for support because she thought they’d refuse to help? So didn’t contact them. The Darlington nurses on the other hand had contacted their union and been refused help.

Good for her. She is an amazingly strong woman. And yes echoing how can an organisation take their dues, yet fail to represent their members? That might be fraud?

I hope that this focuses the attention of unions on never allowing a special group to over ride the needs of female people. As there are other options available for male people with transgender identities, other than their impossible demands to be considered female when they are male people, these unions seem to have their biases clearly on display.

Imagine all those unions having to refund members for all the years their policies failed to follow the law since 2010 and, in their policies, advice and conference positionings, corrupted the law. Dear oh dear.

Reading on it seems she has spoken to them more recently and been ignored.

When women wanted the vote, by and large the unions refused to help because they didn’t want to dilute the purity of their class struggle cause.

Plus ça change.

And when women fought for equal pay, the unions refused to support them in case it upset the men.
