Oh my goodness. That is great work
holding them up to the fire
the unions have got away with for too long ignoring women and their rights 🙌🙌

Glamourreader · 23/05/2025 22:23

Yes!!!! Go Sandie, we're all so proud of you ❤️

rebmacesrevda · 23/05/2025 22:25

Excellent!

wantmorenow · 23/05/2025 22:26

Bloody marvellous. Sandie's strength and determination to see this through is impressive. Thank you Sandie.

Tiredofwhataboutery · 23/05/2025 22:28

As well she should. A Union is supposed to uphold your rights not give them away calling you a transphobic dinosaur/ bigot. I hope she gets a massive payout and it scares the other unions back into line.

SidewaysOtter · 23/05/2025 22:28

Good for her!

Is gardening required anywhere?

Electricfireplace · 23/05/2025 22:30

Very pleased to see this.
All unions need to take note.Hmm

myplace · 23/05/2025 22:32

Fantastic. I hope she wipes the floor with them. Can’t wait to see them explain why they thought she had to put up with that with no support.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 23/05/2025 22:34

Brilliant woman! Long overdue that these shameful organisations are held to account for abandoning women who've paid their subscriptions and expect support when challenging creepy men demanding access to their bodies.

Pabbel · 23/05/2025 22:40

Definitely time for accountability!
Good luck Sandie, I hope you wipe the floor with them, they have behaved shamefully.

MysticCatLady · 23/05/2025 22:41

Good for her!!! The union has been appalling.

Pleasantsort · 23/05/2025 22:45

Amazing! They have failed her and women everywhere! The rest of the unions should take note! Will she be needing some seeds etc for planting??

NotMyRealAccount · 23/05/2025 22:46

She is an amazingly strong woman.

I think JK is helping completely with allotment

cheesecakewrestler · 23/05/2025 22:55

I thought she hadn’t gone to her union and asked for support because she thought they’d refuse to help? So didn’t contact them. The Darlington nurses on the other hand had contacted their union and been refused help.

socialdilemmawhattodo · 23/05/2025 23:00

Good for her. She is an amazingly strong woman. And yes echoing how can an organisation take their dues, yet fail to represent their members? That might be fraud?

Helleofabore · 23/05/2025 23:10

I hope that this focuses the attention of unions on never allowing a special group to over ride the needs of female people. As there are other options available for male people with transgender identities, other than their impossible demands to be considered female when they are male people, these unions seem to have their biases clearly on display.

Imagine all those unions having to refund members for all the years their policies failed to follow the law since 2010 and, in their policies, advice and conference positionings, corrupted the law. Dear oh dear.

Davros · 23/05/2025 23:12

Nothing’s changed, the Unions always were for white men

BettyBooper · 23/05/2025 23:13

Yaaaaaaaaaas Queeeeeeen!

MoltenLasagne · 23/05/2025 23:15

Good for her. Hope they have to pay through the nose.

Nomoreidea · 23/05/2025 23:21

I thought she hadn’t gone to her union and asked for support because she thought they’d refuse to help? So didn’t contact them. The Darlington nurses on the other hand had contacted their union and been refused help.

Article says this: But when she turned to the RCN for help after 30 years of membership, she claims she was refused support and legal assistance
Reading on it seems she has spoken to them more recently and been ignored.

SidewaysOtter · 23/05/2025 23:25

When women wanted the vote, by and large the unions refused to help because they didn’t want to dilute the purity of their class struggle cause.

Plus ça change.

HelenaWaiting · 23/05/2025 23:34

And when women fought for equal pay, the unions refused to support them in case it upset the men.

HeyPooPooHead · 24/05/2025 00:04

Bloody hell, why on earth have I been paying UNISON all these years
