Does anyone know what's happening at Sisters Salon in Brighton tomorrow? I've heard there's going to be a protest. Can't say much more.

Is this what happened?

”Yesterday, whilst attending an NHS women's health consultation event at jubilee library, the head of trans pride (Sarah Savage) pulled the fire alarm and the entire building was evacuated.Over 200 people ushered out whilst security and then the police dealt with it.”

Such a despicable and selfish act.

Juliejubilee · 18/05/2025 10:55

Namechanged briefly for this.
Sisters Salon held an open meeting to discuss ideas for a pilot NHS women’s health hub. That annoyed Sarah Savage.
we’d all sat down and were were just about to start when the fire alarm went off.
We all trooped out SS was being told to pipe down by security.
we went back in after about15 mins and Savage was sitting on a chair in the atrium shouting TWAW while security awaited for the police.
We lost about 20 minutes of our meeting.
More annoyed were the GSCE and A level students who’d had their revision interrupted. Library staff had to do an incident report and I guess more paperwork.
But the plus point was no cheers for Savage’s lame protest and lots of annoyed library users. He looked a complete d*ckhead. NHS will hopefully take our ideas onboard
When we started Sisters Salon we went under the radar, now of course we can meet openly and we ain’t afraid of silly one-man protests

Really furthering the cause for Trans acceptance there with that pathetic little stunt.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 18/05/2025 11:00

So wait, to be clear - you were literally having a meeting to scope a health initiative for women? That was it?

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 18/05/2025 11:01

I just mean, that of all things is what they choose to attack????

PonyPatter44 · 18/05/2025 11:05

I bet they dared to talk about things like pregnancy and endo, rather than pillow fights and lipstick, and "Sarah " couldn't be centred in those issues.

PonyPatter44 · 18/05/2025 11:06

Oh, and for which organisation is Sarah the head of trans pride?

Juliejubilee · 18/05/2025 11:09

Yeah. We were literally collecting data to feed into NHS planning. Funny that we were exactly the sort of women they wanted to hear from 😂

But what about the MEN???
How awful to focus on women's health needs in a way that excludes male people.
Bitches.

Juliejubilee · 18/05/2025 11:11

Only one man, fortunately

That is excellent. I've been a tiny part of data gathering in Kent and Medway on women's health over the last couple of years. But the language was wrong and they haven't until now responded to me on that.

mrshoho · 18/05/2025 11:21

Let's hope the full force of the law is enacted for this criminal offence. What an absolute attention seeking dick.

TheRozzers · 18/05/2025 11:22

Here is the TRA boasting about it on Instagram. Stunning and brave 🙄 https://www.instagram.com/share/BAKf8JM5pd

TheRozzers · 18/05/2025 11:28

Imagine being furious about a group of women and trans men (yes there were trans men in attendance) meeting to discuss women’s health. Let’s silence that endometriosis chat.

eatfigs · 18/05/2025 11:31

According to Twitter posts about this, he was arrested and then released without charge because he told the police it was a protest.

Well, I'm sorry the meeting was disrupted and others affected, too.

Ultimately, though, this is a prime example of 'let them speak', only I'd call it 'let them act like dicks'.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 18/05/2025 12:09

All I can say is good for you @Juliejubilee and thanks for the work you do for women

TangenitalContrivences · 18/05/2025 13:14

I am certain this is a crime?

misscockerspaniel · 18/05/2025 13:21

Yes, according to this, he did commit an illegal act

Edited to say this is a poster by Leicestershire Fire and Rescue

There will be CCTV, there must have been an investigation at the time? Fire trucks turn up? Police? Why has this person not at least been banned for life from all council buildings let alone been arrested and charged?

He seems to be boasting that as soon as it was established that he was protesting he was immediately de-arrested. Please tell me this is not the case. I thought the right to protest did not include breaking any laws or being a public nuisance.

rebmacesrevda · 18/05/2025 13:31

Regrettably, I watched the instagram video. He says he was arrested, but the cops let him off because he said he was protesting 🙄

Two Tier Policing at its finest. Anyone feel like suing Sussex Police?

Edited to add: what an arsehole. Diverting emergency services is beyond selfish.

This v dry comment on his video made me laugh…

The problem is that there is no clear list of what women are
allowed to talk about. I think if you made that list then you wouldn't have this upset and everyone could respect your boundaries
whether you are there or not.
