AIBU to love a "reverse ferret"?

I've read a lot of posts in this forum talk about organisations or individuals doing a reverse ferret. Often it has a derogatory tone, in comparison to "sees sense".

Given the sheer numbers of those in power captured by genderwoo, I think "reverse ferrets" should be applauded as the way back to normality and sense.

AIBU?

Agreed. I've said it before but John Boyne's Twitter apology was a masterclass in saying 'I was wrong. I'm sorry'

That, I can respect.

What I can't respect is people or organisations who pretend that their opinion has never changed when it has, and there are receipts to prove it.

Yes! Johns apology was superb, it showed he truly was sorry for getting it wrong. And I thought fair play to the man, that took guts.

And then you have the likes of Labour (of which I'm still a member as I keep forgetting to cancel my membership and it's annoyingly on auto renew) and their "we've always supported single sex spaces" (despite the fact they've purposefully referred to safe spaces instead for years) and I'm shouting out loud at the tv "Oh fuck off you lying arse!"

I am on a monthly auto renew with the Lib Dems, so I cancelled the payment as soon as they came out with their weaselly "yes we will obey the Supreme Court but what about the poor trans" nonsense. So they will find out when the DD fails in a few days time. We will see what their response will be. I might remind them that I am the sort of GC woman like Natalie Bird that a few weeks ago they would only have been too glad to kick out of membership. (I am still mentally composing my response!)

As for 'What about the poor trans, they are afraid.' Beth Upton, 6 foot 2 against Sandie Peggie of about 5 foot 4? Oh please!

6ft 2 inches and with the whole of NHS Fife and Scot Gov behind him. Sandie Peggie should be given the George Cross.

Eta the initials are very appropriate.

Lots of great comments on this thread.

IMO, the golden is there for both reverse ferreters and people who overtly state that they were wrong and have now changed their view (John Boyne, Wes Streeting being good examples in this thread). I have far more respect for the latter but will accommodate the self-delusion and cowardice of the former as long as they take action which puts things right. It's the action I'm "applauding" in my yes vote on here.
