I had words today with the Labor Party lady on duty handing out voting cards. I left her saying “I know nothing about any of that” and “I will look it up”. I said Julia Gillard started it by removing the definition of sexes in the SDA and the state government compounded it by changing my birth certificate to a piece of wallpaper rather than a record of historical fact. And I carried on for a full ten minutes. Tickle v Giggle. Men in girls sports. Men who in changing rooms. And more. But still so much that I didn’t say.
The Labor Party here is very proud of their rule that across Australia, there is 50/50 gender representation in winnable seats. I said that isn’t worth the paper it’s written on when the Federal Court rules that blokes can say “I’m a woman “ and shop in the right department of Kmart. She didn’t like that. That hits Labor Party women where it hurts.
My line now is that the Labor Party have removed my choice from my voting options because I can’t vote for anyone who delivered me that. And that I am angry and upset that my choice has been removed.
